Tired of hacks like Ashlee Simpson faking it? Go and sign the petition to her record label to drop her. Over 152,000 have already signed.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, but....

What's the point of a petition to a record label asking them to drop an artist? Isn't the point of a market-driven economy that buyers' demand dictates whether products are produced? Obviously enough people are buying Ashlee's records for the record company to justify keeping her on their roster. Why should they drop her because a bunch of people who wouldn't buy her album in the first place wrote a petition complaining that she lip-syncs?

Besides, Ashlee's just another disposable artist who will probaly release another album, have the third one flop, and then fade into obscurity only to be resurrected fifteen years from now on a "Lifetime's Best of the 2000's Collection". People are way too bent out of shape complaining about music they don't like when that time could be better spent supporting music they do like.

Just my 2% of one dollar. ;)

I just thought it was funny...It wasn't meant as serious. The only way they'll drop her is when everyone forgets she exists.

Oh no, I knew that you weren't serious about it, but I found it kind of funny that there are people who really do think that are making a statement with it. Wasn't it Tom that said that petitions are worthless?

I think so yeah. And some are taking it seriously...lol...oh well, whatever floats their boat.

In actually, this is more press for her. Her label probably loves it. Hell, they could have started it. It was even in People magazine.

i sent that post to everyone I know. I think it is great that there are hundreds of thousands of people out there willing to push back at the corporate bullshit no talent jackoffs like her. We all know that Britney doesn't sing live. Neither does Madonna for that matter.
I personally know some broadway style actors that sing and dance on stage and they have told me that there is no way these chicks could sing while doing these acrobatic dance moves. Just watch some old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers movies they did it too. Difference is they could actually sing. I think people are so up in arms about this because she didn't have to work for her success. She just let big sister do all the work and give her a recording contract on a silver platter. By the way her big sister is hot!!!!!!and she can really sing.
I know this petition won't hurt her career(it most likely will help it)but it's nice to know that people are at least trying to make a difference no matter how futile it is.

I don't know - I'm more indignant about the nepotism that occurs in everyday life. Again, it all comes down to people buying Ashlee's album. If people buy the albums then she'll stay signed, if not, she'll wind up in the bargain bin.

I think they're both all about the stage parents. I never thought the older one could sing worth a hoot... speaking of hoots, let me tell you why Jessica still gets so many internet search hits... :) ---->JMS
