Dragonfire & Hollowpoint

Post by The Deicide »

I got to see both of these bands at the Malevolent Metal Fest about 10 years ago in Titusville. I know Hollowpoint changed its name not long after that. Are either of these bands still together and playing at all?

On a side note, that was a hell of a good time.

I fully understand that. I can't find their CD I managed to sweet talk out of the woman who was organizing for them, but I have the songs on my computer that I ripped from the cd all those years ago. I was through Titusville last weekend and had to reminisce I bit. I hope some one can post up a "where are they now" in response to this.

Not sure if Dragonfire is on hiatus or broken up, but DF guitarist Chris Peters now owns and operates The Underground Studios in Altoona, near the PSU Altoona campus. He's still active in the music scene, recording bands and expanding the Underground empire.

Dragon Fire is long since gone. Last I heard, a couple former members are in another band (can't remember the name off-hand), and Robo Ron had briefly joined Samara. That must've been short-lived, as I'd seen Samara not long ago and they had a totally different frontman

I may have to take a few trips down toward Altoona to check out some different shows. Being new to this site, does it have a lot of info on central PA bands? I'm so out of touch with which bands are decent and which ones aren't. There is nothing like paying a cover, getting ripped off on drinks, and listening to bad music.

I'll tell ya it's great to know we are missed. :) But yes shortly following the Mushroomhead tour we split up for various reasons I prefer not to get into. But it is definitely a permanent break up with no chance of a reunion. Chris and Eric are doing their thing with Missing Factor 5. Ron, I have no idea what he's doing. And I got too damn old to do that stuff anymore! ha ha ha But yeah that Titusville show was the bomb!! Glad to know y'all had a great time!!!!

There are a lot of old rockers. Ozzy wasn't too bad until this latest BS Sharon had him do. I would love to see something like that fest at Titusville done again. I caught 2-3 songs by each band I think. I was out of my mind all weekend. There were some good bands there too. I still listen to stuff from CDs I got there. AFN was another great band. I have no idea what happened to any of the bands. I wasn't real impressed with Mushroomhead. I think they could have done a better show. The two girls on stage making out while they played were a better performance I think.

Steve, the only way you're too old is if you physically can't!

It sucks what happened (whatever it may be), and that there's no chance of reunion (though that's understandable with situations as they can be), but damn were there some good times with Dragon Fire! Damn, I remember a lot of times screaming some of the lyrics to varions songs into the mic! Good times, good times!
