BTW, apparently we went to the same high school
Individually - How often do you practice ?
I thought so too, unfortunately it appears few people get it.nakedtwister wrote:rreihart wrote:Practice!? You guys are talking about, practice? Really? Practice? Now that's funny.

No, but I wouldn't be opposed to it.ToonaRockGuy wrote:This is the NailDriver mantra when we rehearse, LOL! Russ, have you been sneaking in and watching us??rreihart wrote:Practice!? NOT ENOUGH!
Typical week:
Sunday & my off-day (if I don't work): 3-5 hrs if possible. Includes sightreading out of the Real Rock Book, band material, you-tube playalongs, video lessons, writing originals, compiling material to play/sing.
Work days: Usually at least an hour of playing. Early in the week, or if the band isn't playing, it's more just playing for fun what I want to do. Late in the week, it's more business, with technical excercises to warm-up.

I have an electronic yamaha drumset at home, pearl export 5 piece at practice, and a 6 piece pearl export for a show kit. But to be honest other than having band practices every week when we do practice, I do alot of air drumming and drumming on anything around me whether it's the couch, floor, etc. While doing this I do actually practice rudiments and such. This also helps keep the hands loose and hopefully someday pays off to make me a better drummer.

I prolly play a good two hours six our of seven days of the week and on some days up to four or even five hours. This includes about a half hour of warm up scales and such though too. I usually play at night as Im a night person but its paying off slowly...you dont become a rockstar overnight o.O
some people just dont understand that music playing is in fact a skill that you do actually have to be dedicated to get better at...well at least thats my opinion anyhow, but yeah..I play a lot haha XD
