New Beatles on the Block

Post by Jasaoke »

I heard this on the radio today and I'm strangely drawn to it. It's as if Sgt. Pepper turned pop...

It's probably best to listen without watching

Well, I never said it was any good.

And, for the record, I'm comparing the songwriting/arrangement of that to the Beatles, not the other way around:
The George Harrison Intro
The Strawberry Fields quartet in the verse
the new-tempo chorus, complete with Penny Lane-ish (albeit fake) trumpet
and the slap-back delay is pure George Martin.
For goodness' sake, there's a harpsicord break!
