I buy
I buy a lot of guitars, too many! But not this one. You don't have time for me to check it out then I probably will go somewhere else.
Just pointing out that if you want to sell it, you might want to let someone look at it, haha.

Can I give you $350.00 as is and then return it after ten days if I don't like it...or until I win one on e-bay for less? OR, how about I offer the full retail price of $749.99 and come pick it up but want to play it first and then decide I don't want it? Hmmm...heartsshadow wrote: Now these guitars sell for anywhere from 499.99 to 749.99

I can see Keith's point; it may seem silly to criticize when you have no intention of buying it, but this is a public forum and people are gonna let you know what they think whether you like it or not, and I think there may be some things about this you haven't considered.
In my humble opinion, any musician who buys an instrument without playing it first is foolish, and asking someone to shell out $550 for an instrument without playing it first is unreasonable because being new or in like new condition doesn't mean it plays and sounds exactly the same as every other instrument of the same model. Even new instruments have small imperfections and characteristics unique to that instrument. No two instruments, especially if they're made of wood, are ever exactly the same.
Also, refusing to let anyone try out the guitar first looks suspicious. My first thought would be that there must be something wrong with it. $550 is a lot of money, and once they walk out the door with the guitar and you've got the cash in your hand, there isn't much they can do if there is. Not a very good way to do business.
And this may be nit picking, but...are you serious with the $549.99 thing? Do you seriously expect someone to drop ninety-nine cents in your hand on top of $549 worth of bills? Don't insult the buyer's intelligence. A penny isn't worth a damn anymore. Just call it $550.
All things considered, this ad is likely to put a lot of people off. Not trying to be rude, just being honest.

i have done this buying and selling for many years and my policy is come try it out ... if you like it buy it. if you change your mind in a week then bring it back for a full refund or untrade. this has always been fair and can cause very few problems. some guitars and amps you must try and some there is no need to. so lets be fair to the seller... he just does not want deadbeats that want to play the axe and have no money . and 550?? well that will get you 5 tanks of gas in your truck.. that used to be a lot of money..
if my nose was running money i would blow it on guitars but it is not

Put that damn thing back in the case and sell the SG slick. The SG will move quicker. Scale shmale.... Blah blah blah! I prefer the shorter scale too but it isn't enough of a difference to off my best playing axe. You can thank me for the good advice later.
IF you insist on selling the Schecter, I INSIST on playing it first... even though I am NOT going to buy it. PLUS, I expect you to pay ME for playing it. WHY? Because I CAN!!
On a more serious note, I have set up this guitar in the past for the owner and have played it several times. It's a keeper, especially for 500 bones. It plays smooth, is fairly light weight and sounds very good in both standard and alternate/dropped tunings. And that is why I suggest the owner keep it and find something else to sell. I just bought a LP last week so I am well over my space limitations for storing another guitar. Otherwise I'd do a buy-back deal w/you because sooner more than later, you're gonna want that guitar back and regret letting it go for that low of a price.
Keep the Schecter and sell the SG.
