HOMEGROWN ROCKER 2/27/11 (MILLENNIUM RECAP)

Post by Jim Price »

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 27 edition of Rocky 99 and Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com) and WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

This week, we recapped the 15th annual Millennium Music Conference (www.musicconference.net), which took place Feb. 17-20 at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in Camp Hill. The “Homegrown Rocker” was in attendance, and we featured audio from the conference; including an excerpt from Halestorm’s keynote panel discussion, along with comments about the conference from Jackson Monsour and members of Finespun, Lovebettie, Faith In Exile, Halestorm and the Dead End Cruisers. We played music from some of the more than 260 bands and artists who attended and showcased during Millennium weekend (and will be debuting more music from conference performers in coming weeks on the show), and we reviewed Faith In Exile’s In Defiance of Suffering CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” And one lucky listener called in and won a Millennium CD prize pack!

Here is this week's playlist:

CANDLELIGHT RED – “Closer”
GRACES DOWNFALL – “Walk Away”
PHANTASM – “Disasteroid”
