Backing Tracks

Post by felix'apprentice »

Do you guys use them? I found that my lead work has improved a ton since i started using my mp3 into my gdec and playing along with tunes.

i got my hands on a cd with some cool backing tracks (thanks rick). just wondering where i could get some more? or what resources anyone uses.

thanks in advance!

I don't know what your budget is, but there a lot of people on youtube who use this program for their backing tracks.

I use midi files. You can download them free and erase the tracks you don't want...in your case the guitar track. There are several freeware midi editors & playback programs on the web to use your computer. Earlier versions of the GDEC use standard midi files...not sure if yours does.

I use Roland synth products for a live midi show.

there are backing track websites for free. Just general rock, blues, jazz etc. but there are also regular songs on there without the guitar parts, etc.

Just do a web search for "backing tracks". There are many web sites that have tracks you can jam to for free.

Here's one I use a lot:
