Duncan Blackout Pickups

Post by Slothkill »

Just installed a set for a friend... And after a extensive testing session I say "wow"
I think Mr. Duncan beat EMG at their game.

I had a set of them in a set neck ibanez a little while back and i'd have to agree with you. I think they sound alot better than the EMG's. But i'd still take a good ol' DiMarzio Super Distortion over either of them. :)

O.k. He was telling me about a Gibson V the other day, so I must have got them confused.

Yea,he has a Gibson V but he can't decide from one day to the next whether he likes playing it or not, haha. The PRS stays at home,he usually plays the Carvin onstage-99.9% of the time.

Dimarzio Evolution was my fave pickup. They are described as an EMG but with actual tone. Never tried blackouts.

My Ibanez 450DX had Dimarzio's, they were pretty good pickups.

I was most impressed with the Tone they held with volume roll-off.
I believe even in the hands of said guitar player, these pick-ups qualify for for frontal face melt.
