Keyboard Amp, or small mixer w/ monitors?

Post by Don Hughes »

What does everyone think? I have a 6 channel mixer already. Would 2 12 inch monitors (hoping to run stereo) be your move, or still go for a keyboard amp (probably Behringer's 180watt amp)?

what is this for? PA? Keyboards? Studio monitoring?

If its for keyboards and you want stereo, I'd get two powered 15" speakers w/horns.

It'd definitely be for keyboards. I'm kind of torn between 12s or 15s. Stereo isn't a must, just would be kinda nice.

if you aren't going to sing thru it, get the 15". Keys will benefit from the additional low end response.

Look at the speaker box spec too. I've seen some 12'' boxes with a low-end roll of damn near a 15'' box and was a lot easier to move around.
