growler/screamer - one trick pony, here looking...

Post by Dragan Kalasa »

I'm looking to more or less jam, or maybe collaborate with another band. I want to do more. However, I may be looking into a huge "career change/opportunity" which may or may not decide whether I can commit to being in a band or simply just do something when I have time. I'm hoping to know that by April, but was told it could be til August. Kinda destroys everything, I know, but I want to be completely honest and realistic about it.

My name is Andrew. I live just North of Everett in Bedford County, PA. Like the subject reads, I'm a growler/screamer and have been doing it for around 15 years. I have a unique style of doing it, or so I was told.

I've also been told I have similarities to the vocalist from The Agony Scene. This is other people's claims not mine. However if you're unfamiliar with the band and curious of what I may sound like (according to other people) without feeling the need to actually send me a message or communicate with me in anyway , I posted a youtube link to a song of their's so you can get an idea of what other people think I sound like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su-YnPiyKqI

I'm 29 years old, straight-laced, wife and two kids, full time job, the whole shabang and my priorities are in line. So, for the most part, my ducks are in a row (exception being the whole career change thing previously stated).

No disrespect to the older heavy metal scene - Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, etc...but I'm not much into that, but that's not saying you shouldn't be either. I just simply gravitate and relate more to the newer metal than old.

Some of my influences include: The Agony Scene, Norma Jean, Static-X, and Rammstein

I have been involved in live/gigging bands and studio bands and have enjoyed them both.

I've also toyed around with the idea of doing a dual-vocal format (like the bands Despised Icon, Lacuna Coil, or locally known Twisted and Used). Just kinda sounds intriguing and well...fun.

I'm willing to go anywhere in Bedford County, Southern Blair, and Western Fulton (like around McConnellsburg) possibly Cambria, but that is kind of a haul for me.

Looking for people with: down to earth and humorous personalities (play like a rockstar, look like a rockstar, but don't act like an egotistical...rockstar), a reasonable work ethic and creativity, no uber drug/alcohol dependencies, realistic goals and expectations, and their priorities in line. Age isn't too much of a concern for me as long as the players know how to play. I've jammed with older and younger people.

Questions, concerns, or interests drop me a PM.

Andrew
