Amp Squealing problem

Post by Mikey Wax »

Hello....

I have a Hot Rod Deville 2x12. Everything is working perfectly on it except when I turn up the reverb. If the reverb is anything higher than 0, the amp has a high pitched squeal.

Any ideas?

The reverb spring pan has an input and an output. Make sure that they aren't swapped. I have seen that before.

If they aren't swapped, unplug the reverb pan input, turn down the reverb control to 0, fire up the amp, and start turning up the reverb control while tapping on the spring pan. You should hear the springs rattling around through the amp.
... and then the wheel fell off.

It required some ancient valve mysticism, but its OK now.

This is a really nice sounding amp! Lots of gain for a Fender.

Wax, come get it before Angus The Cat figures out that its "off" and it won't hurt his ears anymore.
