I got a bunch of stuff, but the music-related goodies:
Zoom H1 field recorder-- Haven't really put it through it's paces yet, but what I've seen so far is pretty impressive for a $100 recorder. Zero self-noise, crystal-clear, bonehead-simple operation, and shirt-pocket size. The only con I've found is the auto-level control, which "pumps" like a badly-set compressor... simple fix: use the manual level control instead, it's simple.
Restless, by The Steeldrivers-- My favorite bluegrass band of the last 30 years. They're basically a blues band playing bluegrass, their former lead singer, Chris Stapleton, looks like Chris Vipond and sounds like Johnny McKnight; and their mandolinist is Mike Henderson, from excellent Nashville bluesmen, The Bluebloods. I was a HUGE fan of their last album, and felt there was no way to improve on it... I was wrong. Nearly any song on the disc could be a hit. Awesome record for rock and blues fans to get into bluegrass. The singer quit at the end of recording this album, so it'll be the last great one from them. Check out "Can You Run," "Peacemaker," "Angel of The Night," or any track, they're all keepers.
