It's Chilly Billy Day!

Post by Jim Price »

I used to watch Chiller Theater religiously every Saturday night when I was a kid (back when Altoona cable actually used to carry Channel 11 in Pittsburgh). Billy also used to host Saturday night studio wrestling on Channel 11 as well, back in the days of Bruno Sammartino, Killer Kowalski and Gorilla Monsoon.

The article offers a nice little blast from the past.

I loved Chiller Theater

A rendition of the tune Experiment In Terror by Al Caiola was used as the theme song for Chiller Theatre starring Chilly Billy Cardille on WIIC Pittsburgh, PA.

Here is the original tune Experiment In Terror by The Henry Mancini Orchestra that was the theme for the movie of the same name. Henry Mancini wrote the tune.

Loved Chiller Theatre, Chilly Billy, Terminal Stare, Stephan....that show rocked. Double features of B horror flicks. I could never stay up for both of them. Frankenstein and the crawling eye, or Dracula and attack of the 50 ft. woman......I wish it was still on, the original Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein are still awesome.

I have an album that he did sometime in the 60's. It's called "Chilly Billy goes on record". It's an album of strange stories and it cost a whole $1.99. I have it autographed also. Like many others, i used to sit up with my brothers and friends to watch those old movies. Loved em!! Too
bad they didn't keep those shows to rerun.

Don't forget about his role as himself in the grandaddy superclassic cult flick of all Dead movies: The Night Of The Living Dead.

He was in the remake too!
