Brace yourself here, I've got a few. Anyone who's been to any Aldo's metal band knows what my preference of music is. Let's see if I can find a few to make you flip...
Donna Lewis. Absolutely awesome Welsh musician, artist, singer,... She does it all! She's best known for her songs, "I Love You, Always, Forever"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqdWTeXWvOg , and a duet with Richard Marx called "At The Beginning"

Elton John - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc4ZRdPGGTI . The man is quite a contemporary artist. He's made MAAANY different songs, of various styles, and to deny the amazing talent of this man should be considered a criminal act!
Spice Girls - 2 Become 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz182bWa3r0&ob=av3e . Despite the overkill pop spew that the Spice Girls were part of, they actually had a couple songs that were very touching, in their own rights. This song smacks my soft side across the face!
Aside from those as primary, a fair bit of the music I listen to (not guilty pleasures), with exception to local, is foreign bands, a fair bit of which are female-fronted, or dual vocalists, one of which is female. Some such include Epica, Nightwish, Theatre Of Tragedy, Lacuna Coil, Sirenia, Tristania, Angtoria, etc. I do tend to like female vocals, with a little bit of "songwriter" ability, including the likes of Jewel, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, the aforementioned Donna Lewis, and whomever else
All that said, I also get into weird moods where I'm humming something from whatever other person or band. Is any of this a surprise, especially coming from someone who enjoys the look, feel, and sound of metal?
