Singer and Guitarist needed for awesome Metal coverband!!!

Post by KeithReynolds »

Based out of Altoona.....
Nothing superserious... we're not looking to play out more than like once a month or so....and mainly playing at Aldo's. So you gotta be able to play in a bar!!!
Basically we just wanna have a good time playing some classic metal songs. With only playing once a month, that means if you have another band and wanna do this project for fun, thats cool.
Btw, this just kind of came together on a whim, but i think its an awesome idea.

Heres whos in the band so far:
Lead Guitar- Max (Ex- Citizen X)
Bass- Me (Ex- Condemned Existence, end of the sun, one gun salute)
Drums- Joe ( Ex- Choking Faith, current: Missing Factor 5)

Guitarists- We want to play as close to flawless as we can versions of the songs, so you have to be able to play the songs well. Leads are covered, but we still need that solid guitarist riffing like mad.

Singers- If you dont like the bands we're going to cover, I doubt you could do the gig with the aggression that we are looking for. We need a frontman...someone who is commanding and likes what they do.

Bands we will be covering: Slayer, old Metallica, Sepultura, Machine Head, Black Sabbath, Pantera...stuff like that.

This is gonna be alot of fun!!!! It would take literally no effort to get the band on some shows, so the faster we can fill out the band and get rehearsing the better.

Cant have a musician wanted post without the "NO" List...so here we go..

NO Drama...NO hardcore drug addicts...NO Emo ANYTHING...NO Assholes

If youre interested...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I gotta add that were NOT doing "Walk" by Pantera .... "Enter sandman" by Metallica OR "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath. Those songs are played way too much for alot of reasons.

It'll be more like "Cowboys From Hell" by Pantera.... "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica and "Fairies Wear Boots" by Black Sabbath.

Thanks for the comment dead34!
Yeah, Max is great. Been his friend for a couple years and his guitar playing just blows me away.

So far, Joe, Max & I have decided on these songs:

Cowboys from Hell- Pantera
Refuse/Resist - Sepultura
Raining Blood (or maybe south of heaven)- Slayer
For Whom The Bell Tolls- Metallica
Davidian- Machine Head <----fuck yes!!!!

Theres a few in consideration for the Black Sabbath song...Fairies wear boots...symptom of the universe....children of the grave....come on..its sabbath!

There's certainly gonna be more...but theres what weve got so far. We're trying to keep it one song per band.

Yeah Matt, it certainly does sound like alot of fun! FUN is the main reason we hatched this little plan. The three guys in the band are very excited and we wanna find the right people soon, but we all know it can be a waiting game.

There better be some Testament being played in this project!

OK. Here's an update if anyone cares! I think we might have the band lineup complete. After we jam with the guy, and everything goes as well as I think it will, we will officially announce him.

this is our songlist so far:
Slayer- South of heaven
Machine Head- Davidian
Metallica- For whom the bell tolls
Black Sabbath- Symptom of the universe
Pantera- Cowboys from hell
Megadeth- Peace Sells
Motorhead- Ace of spades
Sepultura- Refuse/resist
Testament- More than meets the eye

Rehearsals are gonna start soon. We wont consider playing out until we are fully ready. I have some practicing to do!
