Luthiers in the area?

Post by MOONDOGGY »

Does anyone know of any luthiers in the area that are good with electronics and fine woodworking such as inlays and wooden bridge tayloring. I got in over my head with a project that needs to get finished.

All kinetic, no potential.

Bob McMillan used to do a lot of luthier work in Altoona. I haven't seen him in years, but if he is still in business, his shop is on Lark Ave. and his phone number should be in the book.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Talk to Curtis Rockwell of Oriskany Stringed Instruments in Huntingdon his number is 643-3588. He really knows his stuff. You could also try Dave Manella out of Pittsburgh but he might be pretty backed up. THe guitar center in monroeville could give you his number.

Mark Chaplain out of State College, he does a lot of guitar work, and Dave Sarge does quite a bit of electronics work. Both are excellent at what they do. Mark is a Fender Gold Level Tech, and probably a warranty tech for just about every guitar company under the sun.

Bobby M. is retired.

I can do some work, depending on what it is, if you want to give me the specifics, I can let you know.
