O.k .. I listened to the whole cd and have to say that it isn't that bad. There is some great guitar playing on it.
Although, I have to say that I hear a real resemblance of Ozzy in a couple of the songs. Almost as though he wrote the songs for Ozzy and is, instead, singing them himself.
My favorite song from it is "Darkest Days" ..

Dude, have you ever listened to Black Label Society before?f.sciarrillo wrote: Although, I have to say that I hear a real resemblance of Ozzy in a couple of the songs. Almost as though he wrote the songs for Ozzy and is, instead, singing them himself.

Zakk's pseudo-Ozzy vocals probably sound better than Ozzy does anymore. ...and he doesn't need a teleprompter to get through a show.

Most of their stuff does sound like Ozzy or more rocked up Black Sabbath. The reason given for why Ozzy went with a new guitar player on his new record is because he felt that his material was starting to sound too much like Black Label due to Zakk's writing.

Hey
I always loved BLS's music but just can't get past Zakk's vocals.

+1000......come on Frank, you're giving a review of a BLS record and you say it sounds a little like Ozzy on vox?Duhbassist_25 wrote:Dude, have you ever listened to Black Label Society before?f.sciarrillo wrote: Although, I have to say that I hear a real resemblance of Ozzy in a couple of the songs. Awesome album as I'd expected!!! the mix and production is great. Sick riffs and leads abound. His home studio (the bunker) was well worth it. Kinda disappointed all the different bonus tracks were mellow and piano driven, but none the less it rips! Can't wait to see them on The Black Label Berzerkus tour. Overlord and Godspeed Hellbound are my 2 faves so far. BLS4LIFE! S.D.M.F!
