They are the stock Mira pickups. The previous owner popped those Gibson covers on them, but did not solder them, so I will probably take them off and keep it 100% stock...unless I can't resist making it my main gig axe...then its hard to say what will happen.

Slap a ton of shitty looking stickers on it and spray paint the fuck out of it like some of these little punk douche bags would do lol. That is a hot axe though, I have a tremonti SE and it plays like a dream, looking forward to actually having the non SE version someday......someday lol. Thats about 2000 dollars worth of someday.

Lately, I'm all about PAF's and resonant woods. Someday, I'm going to make the lap-steel version of that guitar, right there... korina has the warmth of mahogany with a more-open midrange added.
I met PRS once, and played a rare bass of his. It was a long time ago, and he was showing it at a music store I wandered into. I mentioned that I was looking for a gig, and he offered to get me an audition with Crack The Sky. I noted that I was not musically up to that, and ran away like a little girl!

Got it yesterday...plays and sounds better than any piece of wood I ever held in my hands...PROBLEM:

There isn't so much as a pick scratch on it...perfectly mint #3 of 100 collectible. WHAT TO DO? Put it in the closet and look at it every once in awhile or damn the torpedoes and make it my main axe?

Then again, they might collect wrenches if they were made of titanium, had a limited production of 100 and cost over $2000 new.

Actually, after thinking about it, these Korinas are selling at a significant discount to the store price and are probably not that popular to the yuppie PRS collectors because they don't have the birds or the maple top.

On the other hand, I love the dots for playing...I never got completely used to a "Cooper's Hawk" as the 9th fret marker...it almost gets confusing at times.

I have decided that it will be subject to stage rash...I'll hold off on the stickers & spray paint.

True, but they sit their ass in a chair and act all civil. They usually have a silk cloth for their chin.

Civil is not the word I'd use for our more recent stage performances. Windmills can cause serious pick scratches...and then there's the small stages where you have to dodge cymbals and microphones. Jim & Jimmie's has a 7' ceiling with stucco...headstock hazard, not to mention bloody knuckles. Then there's the Huntingdon Legion with the ceiling fans installed at eye level directly over the retractible stage...

Its a long long way to the top if ya wanna rock & roll....

About one month before my dad past away he called me into his bedroom. While he was laying there he said, "Chuck, I want you to have something... it's under the bed - pull it out and take a look." When I looked under the bed I pulled out an older guitar case that said Gibson on it. When I popped open the case, there right in front of me was a 1982 Gibson Les Paul Delux Gold Top. One of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I looked at my dad and said - "wow dad, this is incredible - it's perfect in every way - I dont think i'll ever be able to play this guitar - it's just too amazing. I'm gonna put it in my closet and take it out every once in awhile just to look at it." He smiled and said, "Son, this guitar was born to be played, it's sat under my bed in perfect condition since the year you were born - and the one lesson I've learned through all of this is that it's just stuff - you cant take it with you when you're gone in this world - so Enjoy the hell out of it while you can." I'm proud to say that the guitar is now my main gig guitar - I play it and love every second out of it - it's like my old man is standing on stage with me for every chord. I guess my point to even sharing this is to say - If you have a guitar that nice - enjoy the shit out of it. What good is a perfectly mint guitar going to do you when you're no longer around to play it? LOL. Well anyway, that's a sweet axe - I'm hoping to get a PRS someday too. Cheers.

I love my PRS...I let people sit in and play it..Strat players can easily get lost with all the extra frets...its more fun playing my Signature Series PRS(with the birds) than it is to play my Strat or Les Paul...more frets can take you more places!!
