Has anyone successfully accomplished this and how?
I looked online and there are different methods and negative comments for all of them.
If anyone knows how to complete this task - I would appreciate the input.

Many digital camcorders have the ability to stream the VHS signal thru the camera into the computer. If you have one of these, you can use your Dcam capture software to get it into digital format. From there, you can burn DVD's. If you don't have a digital camcorder, you should consider this if you are thinking of buying hardware.
There is a freeware product that does a lot of conversions and DVD burns, flash , etc. It works really well and all you have to put up with is a request to download a toolbar when you close the programs.
