Huh? This was there before any ban. He had lifted a ban on east coast drilling. Which probably, given recent events, will never be started.
thats what i meant east coast drilling what do you mean it never started thats where the bp spill was located. or am i missing something
The spill is in the Gulf of Mexico.

They have been drilling in the Gulf of Mexico for years, however in a quick search I could not find out how long. The Gulf of Mexico waters do border the USA however the Gulf of Mexico is not on the east coast, the Atlantic Ocean is on the east coast, where there has been a ban on drilling. Hope that helps.

Now that we see the carnage that can come from a single oil rig, what's to stop terrorists from getting boats from like-minded local countries (like Cuba), loading them with torpedoes and going on an oil platform turkey shoot in the Gulf Of Mexico?

I wonder if Napolitano even recognizes the risk?

This is disturbing.

New Pig in Tipton is getting in on the cleanup.

Too bad they aren't publicly traded.

Obama is supposed to go down to "evaluate" the mess today. Yep, the mess that he let go for this long because he wanted to show that off shore drilling was bad. I don't care who you are, you can not tell me that wasn't his motive...

The FTC is not allowing trading on any company involved in the cleanup. They say they are doing it to protect us from unscrupulous bad doers.

Do you have a link to that? Do you mean the SEC? I don't think the FTC is the authority agency...although I doubt the Obama bunch cares what agency they use as long as the imperial command is obeyed.

Has anyone in charge even considered this low tech solution? It seems so simple and yet it works. Oh wait, no large corporation could make wind fall profits off of it, so no it will probably not even be considered.

A lot of it has to do with intelligence, which none of them have. Also, the people who would be making the profits off it would be the farmers they buy the hay from, which is a good thing because farmers have been getting screwed for a long time ...
