The ATM75 is a condenser (phantom power or battery) and is hotter than the dynamic Pro8. It will also produce more bass response than the Pro8.ToonaRockGuy wrote:Jeff, how does this model compare to the Pro8 HeX that I have? I'm sick of that headset, but leery of getting another A-T.
If you are getting a kinda trebly AM radio sound from the Pro8, then you might like the ATM75.
You can always try mine and compare the two.

It has a thin 4 foot cable that goes to a clip-on condenser preamp box that's the size of a wirless belt pack transmitter. The box has an XLR connector where you plug a regular mic cable. The belt pack has an AA battery compartment to supply power to the condenser if phantom power is not available thru the mixer. It also has a 3-way switch for OFF, NORMAL and 80hz rolloff.Does this mic just plugin to the board XLR style or what?
