Political groups calling me

Post by floodcitybrass »

Anyone getting tired of the policatcal groups calling about the election?
Can't they come up with something better than cold calling people?
Apparentyl they can override the donotcall list.

I believe this race is a primary, so you can only vote for the candidates in the party you are registered in.

I love it. I pick up the phone and let them know what's going on.

I worked the phones for the President's campaign and I know how it works so I know what he poor bastards have to go through.

I hated that job.

I believe you are correct but there should be a special election for Murtha's spot that's mainly the one I'm getting calls on. Thats's why I said one race.

Apparently they can override the donotcall list.
I used to run service call center operations for a major insurance company and had to know this stuff.

When Congress passed the voluntary sign up do not call list legislation, there were several groups, organizations, or businesses that they made sure are not affected by this even if you add your phone number to the national do not call registry list.

1. Political campaign calls from any political party, candidate, or organization regarding any elections or other political party activities, surveys, etc. are not affected by the law. Sure is nice that the politicians wanted everybody think they were doing them a good thing with the do not call legislation but made sure it did not affect them at all. Quite convenient. They did not want the public to know this.

2. Any non-profit organization calls. (You can ask to be added to each non-profit organization do not call list separately through each of them individually since they are not affected by the national list)

3. Any business or organization that you have an existing account, business relationship, or are doing new business with them. (You can ask to be added to each business or organization do not call list separately through each of them individually since they are not affected by the national list)

4. Also, if you change phone numbers, you have to register your new number on the national do not call list if you want the new phone number to be on it.

5. If you do add your phone number to the national do not call list, it is not automatically added and active. There is a timeframe before it is added and active.

What, Bill is calling peoples houses and trying to get them to vote for the dems ? :p

On a serious note: If you ever get a call from a telemarker, and it is an automated system, all you have to do is push "0" it will then notify them that you want off their list.

Heh, heh, heh...of course! Politicians are one of the exempt groups. Who do you think wrote the law?

It is nothing more than a spam sales call. 90% bullshit and spin, 10% facts. I don't need them to tell me what they think I should hear. I do my own homework, thank you very much. I don't feel the need to waste my time answering the phone for either party any more than I would for someone selling swamp land in Florida. No love-loss for either party. They both suck ass berries.

My phone has answering machine set for two rings. Leave a fuggin message by talking to my obnoxious, silicon chipped drone bot. Maybe I'll return the call..... Prolly not! However, if you're family, friends, someone who wants to jam, buy, sell or trade some music gear, by all means, expect a return call. Otherwise, GFY!

I'm T@rgetDrone and I personally approve this message.

Here is the one single time dial-up doesn't bug me. Call me. Go ahead.
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.
