Remember the 80's movies..

Post by f.sciarrillo »

I am in this 80's kick tonight (I mentioned RAD in another thread) and was thinking of the movie No Retreat No Surrender. Does anyone remember that one? It was Van Damns first staring rule I believe? I still say that line: "You are the son, are you not? Yes, but this time it will be different, Russian" ...

Any other low budget, one hit wonder movies come to mind ?

you mean all the movies that they are going to remake.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

I forgot about Better Off Dead. Good one ..

Usually when you say 80's movies the first ones that come to my mind are Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. I still blame Molly Ringwald for everything (she is the reason I am fascinated with Redheads).

That brings me to another one - Who remember Explorers? Cory Feldman and River Pheonix played in it.

Another one I just thought of was Dreamscape. Dennis Quade was pretty good in that ...

Low budget?

C.H.U.D.
The Exterminator (It think that was the title, featured a vigilante in a black fullface motorcycle helmet)
I Spit On Your Grave
Private School (between the slo-mo bare-breasted horseback-riding scene in this, and the Phoebe Cates topless scene in Fast Times, I became a man :D )
Warriors
Class Of 1984 (a favorite!)

+1 USA Up All Night had some the best worst movies. Another fine example: Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle Of Death.

What about:
Project X
War Games
The Wraith

Porky's
The 'Burbs
OK, technically released in '91, but soundtrack is full of some great 80s bands, and the movie just freaking rules.... Point Break.

And how the hell have we not mentioned Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?

Party on, dudes!
