Music trivia - Longevity ..

We all know there are a number of bands who have been around for a long time. That comes with different line ups and the like. However, there is a band that has been around for a very long time with the same line up. Can you tell what band this is that has been around the longest with the same line up, and can you tell me how long they been together?

I don't know if this is the answer but Golden Earring has been together since 1961 and has had the same 4 member lineup since 1970. Even though they only had a few hits in the U.S., they have had almost 75 singles and have had over 30 gold and platinum albums and sold millions of records worldwide.

I can't find anything longer than ZZ Top with the same lineup since 1969.

And the answer is - ZZ Top (formed in 1969). Good job guys .. They are the longest running American act with the same line up. Golden Earring is the one of the longest running World acts with the same line up. Have the same since 1970.

Other notable bands with the longest lineup include, The Stones and Aerosmith .. I would say AC/DC is there as well, but they went through a couple of drummers over the years.

Huh. I found the same thing about Golden Earing (That they'd been together with the same lineup since '61).

The DelRays have been together since '54, but not sure about the lineup.

Golden earring formed in 1961. They have had the same line up since 1970.

I know that The Desperados were formed back in the early 80s as a side project of Smilin' Dogg. Mark Middleton and Mike Suppes have always been in the band. They have changed drummers over the years and Mark had some international success with Raging Slab but the band has continued non-stop for over 25 years.
