thread about the members...

how are ya? how's life?

I'll start....

Car is a piece of shit, bought a transmission in december, now the synchronizer is screwed, really gotta know your 5 speed to make it even move. The Hawks on the other hand, is doing great. This band is definitely not a Grand Am.

See, that wasn't hard... Chime in!
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

work is pretty good, selling lots of cars for now, life is good, everyone's healthy.

Got a new guitar for Christmas, an ESP Ltd ml100gt (tiger stripe Lynch model) and G2 effects processor. Absolutely love it, great tones. Now I have a guitar in standard and Eb tuning so I can play a lot of my 80's hair metal without switching tunings.

Spring has hopefully sprung for good so I can get some fishing in with my 2 sons.

Hope all is well with everyone else.

I work with assholes, play in a band with assholes, and when I have my free time, I come on here and have various discussions with assholes. When it's all said and done, however, I'm probably the biggest asshole of them all!

Well i'm retired due to health problems... To much pain

Music wise I enjoy improv. Doing a project called The Delve we are keys and a guitar. Mostly all studio work. Kinda electronic music with heavy guitar thrown in there.

I'm a Ibanez fan and my Les Paul. Use a line 6 pod xt live no amp. Still looking for a cheap baritone guitar....

Guess thats it

Well, right now, I'm buzzing between the hospital and home. Last night my second son was born. So, I'm a little run down right now.

Work is a little rough, because there's talk about "workforce balancing" at JLG in McConnellsburg. So, I'm in between job classes right now, because I applied, interviewed for, and got a higher position in the company but because of the afforementioned "workforce balancing" they're not making it official until they figure out what their plans are with me. I don't have many years in the place, but I have recall rights to go back to Bedford, so they don't know if I'm going to be laid off, transfer back to Bedford, or continue working in McConnellsburg.

My musical activities are currently on hiatus because of the instability of my job and new family addition. I'm tossing around the idea of maybe trying to ask some people to do collaborations with so I can continue to create music, but not quite have the responsibility to be in a band until I can get all my ducks in a row.

Let's see...what else...oh, currently I'm in first place going into the playoffs for a keeper basketball fantasy league. I guess that's it...

After almost a year, I think I finally may have found a day job. Interviews are sparse in this job market so you gotta make it count when you get one, cuz 100 other people are just as out of work as you are, applying for the same position. Think I nailed it tho.

bad daZe is chugging along in our seventh year. Kenny and I are still orginal members. Jim Bagrosky has been behind the kit since October 2008 and right now, Kent Tonkin is covering low end. Love the vibe on stage. Great line up. Great brothers. What`s happening with this mix is so natural. Love it. Original material is being created as we speak and we`re gigging regularly.

Miss Paul, but we`re very proud of our "little brother." lol

Otherwise, just livin life. Never know what`s around the next corner. Watch and see what happens, I guess.

WORK SUXS !!!!Seems to suck the life out of me.......
Life . Spending alot of time with my boys, needs some nice weather to get em outside so they don't keep destroying my house. Who would know how much havoc a 1 year old could cause in just 5 minutes of discovery time in the living room. lol
Music wise, trying to get the new project roling again, switched from guitar to bass for this project now my strat is gathering dust. Sorta on a few week break due to our guitarist decided to damn near cut half his ring finger off on his fretboard hand with his table saw...........! more on that later !!!!!!!!!

WOnt discuss the work thing. Life is pretty descent. Happy Birthday to my wife Kathy which was yesterday. Scored lunch for her and then cooked her a nice meal for dinner.
Bandwise, we are working hard on the material we have laid out. There is good chemistry between the four of us and again, I am thinking of picking up the guitar.... again not sure.
Hoping to get out soon.
Other than that .... thats it.

Painting houses, and plugging bluegrass music right now. The summer will be extremely busy for the Corn, after a down-numbers year last year. We have the funds saved up for our album, currently checking project pricing at local studios, and we'll record it in May, if possible.
Heading to Sanibel Island in FL again in April for vacation, stoked about that.
Fishing season isn't here yet, so I spend my downtime taking on all comers in a no-holds-barred attempt to keep Rockpage from turning into Tea Party Central. Probably owe a few guys a beer after taking it too far...
I'm just marking time until I can sit my ass in a kayak and decimate the Juniata River ecosystem by predating as many fish species as I can. --->JMS

After not seeing her for two months since leaving for North Carolina at the end of January, Tara and I met in the middle in Harrisonburg, Virginia to spend a weekend together. It was great seeing each other and enjoying the time in VA. I also got to taste some REALLY good beer, including a nice ale and a pretty rockin' German brew.

Also, I found out that I will be returning to PA at the end of July. Just yesterday, I found out that I have been accepted into a PhD program at IUP. While I dig what I'm doing in North Carolina, for the past six years, I've been obsessed with becoming a doctoral candidate. It's great news, because frankly, my GRE scores suck. I'm hoping that I can move back to Indiana to complete my education as I love that town, but I'll commute from Houtzdale or some place else if that's what it takes.

I'm still enjoying my hiatus from music, but the Mesa's sitting back home at my father's, waiting to be fired back up on a stage for when I get back to PA.

good luck.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

Ah, let's see...

Work: Work's a pain in the nuts. I work with a bunch of crazy guys, aging from 19 to nearly 50 on avg., so I get views from all ages. I bust my ass day in and day out though, and unlike most people, any time we get a "lazy day" (which by no means is lazy), I take as much time to thoroughly soak in it as possible. Anyone who knows me and knows where I work could tell you... I'm losing my health, and if there's any sanity left, that's leaving soon too, all due to that damn place!

But... It is a job, and while I don't like the job itself, I enjoy the sense of humor my immediate coworkers all have and share. I'm able to pay what few bills I have, and I'm able to help my friends. I'm not saving much right now though. If I found a similar job (even with as much hard work) and a better pay with guarantee on hours, you'd better believe I'd be there!

Family: My family's mostly discombobulated right now. It kinda stresses me out some days the way things have gone over the past few months. This year has been somewhat of a faltering stage for my family. It rather sucks, but I'm hoping it gets better

Social: This is currently my pride and joy right now. I'm hanging out with good friends on a common basis, and enjoying their company. I do really have some awesome friends. The only downside is that there are a lot of my friends that, for whatever reason (be it can't contact, haven't had the chance to, haven't been contacted, or just won't), I haven't heard from in awhile. I rather miss the ones I haven't heard from. But, with hopes that that is resolved in the back of my mind, I'm enjoying the ones I do hear from

Music: In rather unfortunate circumstances, I've taken a pending hiatus from playing until I can find time and place for it. This hiatus, to this point, has lasted well over a year, and unfortunately, I'm not sure when it'll end. I'd love to start into drums, or maybe even bass though. However, I still get my vocal jumps with the occasional Rockband/Guitar Hero night... Still... I am rather sad about this

Despite my lack of playing, I'm listening to a lot of music lately. I'm expanding some horizons (minorly, but still expanding), so that's helping. Also, I've got a few tickets for a show in Pittsburgh (HIM, We Are The Fallen, Dommin, and Drive A). I've been listening to HIM a lot lately. Gotta love it when someone throws a band into your head, to bounce around with all the rest... Not the greatest show, but it should certainly prove fun

Health: I need to find a good general dr. in the Altoona area. A few things are starting to bother me, and I wanna sit down and have a chat with a dr. at some point. Any suggestions?

Otherwise: Not a lot to say. I'm getting laid a lot this year though, does that count?

Work is great. I love what I do although I hate the paper work that goes with it.

Music wise, I love the band I'm in and the guys in the band are great. I feel I'm still struggling to "feel" and play the BLUES properly, it's coming along. The musicians in the band I'm surrounded with make it easier. The blues "adventure" I'm having is extraordinary.

I have a wonderful wife who puts up with me, two great kids, three wonderful grandsons and a grand daughter on the way (April). A great daughter-in-law and son-in law.

I still read all of the political threads (and I want you to know that "ucj" and "f.S" are still (always) wrong. )

Life is very good.
