One of the most touching moments I ever experienced in all my years of playing was back in 1974 or 1975. I was about 18 or 19 years old and we got booked to play a dance at a local physical rehabilitation center. The people there had many different types of physical handicaps that included some from birth, some from health issues, and some from accidents, etc.
The people loved the fact that we were there to play music for them and they were a very appreciative and responsive crowd of people of all ages. There was a young lady in a wheelchair really enjoying the music but unfortunately she could not dance and had to watch the others dancing. We started to play a slow song and a young guy went over to the girl, picked her up out of her wheelchair, and carried her onto the dancefloor. He held her in his arms and slow danced with her for the entire song and she was beaming and having a wonderful time. I am now 53 years old and that memory is still one of my most cherished moments in 40 years of playing.

That story rules... I have nothing of that excellence. 
One thing I remember that was pretty badass, though....
We were playing Crowbar 2 nights after Dime was killed, and we busted out Cowboys from Hell. I intro'd the song, and dedicated it to Dime, and the crowd started cheering. When we hit the last note the place ERUPTED.... I'll never forget that moment.

I can relate to moxham. was winter of '71, and we were asked to play
the sweetheart ball at the cresson center. Had to drive thru a blizzard
that night, but the kids treated us as if we were the most famous band in
the world. The amazing thing to me was how many of those kids knew the words to a lot of the songs we did, and sang along. Was probably one of the reasons that made go into nursing as a career. Too bad all gigs can't be like that

We did a wedding for some friends on 8/08/08. They`ve followed the band for years and when they decided to tie the knot, they honored us by having us be a part of their most important day.
It was a gorgeous summer`s day without a cloud in the sky. An outdoor ceremony at a beautiful rural location. If I`m not mistaken, it was the bride`s family home. The reception was outdoors as well under tent with a dance floor. But the weather was perfect. the tent wasn`t necessary.
I even got to emcee the reception. What an honor and great time.

It was a gorgeous summer`s day without a cloud in the sky. An outdoor ceremony at a beautiful rural location. If I`m not mistaken, it was the bride`s family home. The reception was outdoors as well under tent with a dance floor. But the weather was perfect. the tent wasn`t necessary.

Thin Ice opened for Hybrid Ice at the Huntingdon County Fair grandstand in '91, I think it was. The Daily News did a big write-up for us a few days before. WLAK-FM sponsored the show, and promoted heavily. We had a camera crew there from the Pittsburgh Art Institute, and it looked like they were shooting for MTV or something. The grandstand and track-seating had pretty-much sold out, and the crowd knew most of the words to our original songs. It was a warm summer evening, and everyone was ready to party. Jeff Rittenhouse had the PA so loud you could hear it in the next county.
I remember looking out on a sea of people in my hometown, bouncing and pumping their fists, singing along... it was like being in a dream. It was surreal, and I was so comfortable and happy, I kept wondering if I was sleeping. Six months later, Thin Ice was disbanded, but for that night, we were walking in tall cotton, and it's a favorite memory.
