Guitars, we all love them? There are some great players and there are some bad players (like me for example). Either way we all love to play them. Anyway, there has been some debate as to actually invented the electric guitar, so can you tell me who it was ?
Now when I say first electric guitar I mean the first electric guitar - Not solid body or semi solid body; although, if you want, you can give the answers for those as a bonus.
I will give you a hint on this right off the bat - It was not Les Paul or Leo Fender ..
The one who gives the answer to this one will get 10 cans of beans with pork
George....something....starts with a "B"...Br....then a vowel...I think... Maybe no "r"....ANYWAY! Worked with National, then started a company with Rickenbacker that eventually became Rickenbacker.
Semi-answer.

That's like asking who invented the internet!
Les Paul in my mind, after taking a piece of railroad and marrying it with a phonograph needle, has my vote.
however, it makes no difference..."Muddy Waters invented electricity" says Willie Brown from Crossroads. and that's that! LOL

The internet was invented by the government in the 60's as a way to secretly transfer information back and forth. Of course that was until 1983 when AOL came into existence.
As for this question: FloodCitybrass and Ventgtr is right. Way to go and great job, both of you ...
Sorry, try again.
the "net" was a non-collaborative effort among many major contributors through history.
same as the "electric" guitar, many factors are the reason and you can't pinpoint a direct source. which is why i made this reference.
what defines the start of the internet? packet switching? TCP protocols? or even basic electric circuit switching?
what defines the electric guitar? you have to answer that question before you can ask a question as to who invented it. to me, its a SOLID body guitar....
but again i'm a drummer and my thoughts don't count!

Have to give it to FCB. I couldn't remember the full name. I do remember that they originally changed the spelling of Rickenbacker to Richenbacher so it didn't seem as "German".
Seems odd since Eddie Rickenbacker was a WWI hero....Maybe it was that spelling combined with "Adolph" (Adolph Rickenbacker).

The origins of the Internet reach back to the 1960s when the United States funded research projects of its military agencies to build robust, fault-tolerant and distributed computer networks.
I said in the question that it wasn't a solid body or semi solid body lol .. I guess I could have worded it a little better. You guys still are smart enough to see through the little issues here and there, though. So that helps
I invented it. 15 minutes ago. Then i used BDR's phone booth as a time machine, met George Carlin, and gave my creation away while i was way back in time.
You're welcome.
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.
