Bond-a-thon!
Bond-a-thon!
This Thanksgiving holiday served to remind me of what an insufferable James Bond junkie I am! Since Spike TV started showing their "Bond-a-thon" on Wednesday (straight James Bond flicks all weekend), I've watched all or part of at least six Bond flicks and still counting.
How many of you Rockpagers are Bond junkies? Who is your favorite Bond - Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan? And what is your favorite Bond flick?
I'll answer my own questions to start...favorite Bond - Roger Moore.
My fave five James Bond flicks:
1. Live and Let Die. The bayou swamp boat chase scene is classic, and Yaphet Kotto turned into a human balloon is one of the best demises for a villain I've ever seen!
2. Octopussy. That whole circus sequence to close out the movie is classic stuff!
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service. George Lazenby's only time as Bond. The ice racing chase scenes are awesome, and Telly Savalas was one of my fave Bond villains!
4. You Only Live Twice. My favorite Sean Connery Bond flick. Lots of Asian villainry, Donald Pleasance as the megalomaniac trying to start war between the U.S. and U.S.S.R., and a volcano island blowing up in the end. Good stuff!
5. License to Kill. My favorite Timothy Dalton Bond movie. Colombian drug cartels and lots of loaded gasoline tanker big rigs blowing up in the end. Gotta love that pyro!

5. Timothy Dalton (someone PLEASE shoot this bastard. He SUCKED as Bond. ANd for that matter, please ERASE any Bond movie he played in.)
Fave Movies:

5. Octopussy
Dood...
There is only ONE James Bond, all the others are substitute teacher spies....Sean Connery.
Roger Moore saved the world with his toungue in cheek and without mussing his hair. some of the movies with Moore are better movies but still 007 v2.0
George Lazenby?...You're kidding right?
Timothy Dalton, a lot of people don't like Dalton but if you've read Ian Flemmings books, I think he got the closest to the literary James Bond than any of the others.
Pierce Brosnan, Shame he's hanging up his barretta, Better than Moore but not quite Connery.
Fave Movies.
1. Goldfinger, Astin-Martin db5 (with modifications), "Do you expect me to talk?", "No, Mr. Bond I expect you to die." Oddjob and of course, who could forget, the one, the only Pussy Galore.
2. From Russia with love. First gadgets, Hot blonde Russian chick, Gypsy Chick fight, and Robert Shaw as a villian.
3. Dr. No. Introduces the charachter, Ursala Andress in the white bikini and Jack Lord.
4. Octopussy, I know it's Moore but Best Plot, Best gags, The tennis match is my favorite, Cool Gadgets, lots of Hot chicks.
5. Moonraker, first saw it at Vandenberg AFB (they mention it in the film), The return of Jaws, Samurai fight in the glass factory, Dr Holly Goodhead, and "I think he's attempting re-entry."
Honorable mention. License to Kill, Hot CIA spy chick, Hot Damsel in distress, Wayne Newton as lecherous Preacher minion, Q makes a house call and David Hedison as Felix Leighter. "Hope you don't snore, Q"
What's the concensus on John Cleese at the new Q? I like it, I think it works.

Blooz to Youz
I have to admit that I am not a huge Bond fan, but I am however a car junkie, so...I was curious as to what your favorite Bond ride is? My personal favs are the new Aston Martin Vanquish and the old Aston Martin DB7. The Lotus is cool too. My least favorite is that little BMW Z3 roadster.

Pussy Galore
I don't know much about Bond ... BUT !!!!! I do LOVE PUSSY GALORE !
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood
My favorite bond is Sean Connery. I'd put Moore and Brosnan as a tie for second because they have such different interpretations of the character.
Favrorite movies:
A View to A Kill. Christopher Walken is great in this one.
From Russia With Love. I love the fight with the German guy on the train. It is just straight up ass kicking without gadgets. Plus the girl is hot.
The Spy Who Loved Me.
Golfinger.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I agree that the ice chase is great. Plus Lazenby has a great line, "This never happened to the other guy" when he gets turned down by the girl.[/u]

Sean Connery was a very cool Bond. And I agree, Pierce was born to play that part. Hell...they have the looks and the voice for it. I'd go home with either one of them if they kept talking through the whole thing.
Other than that... I wasn't really into bond, but I did like the last bond they had out. Not the most recent one, but the one before that. It was cool. Yey Pierce.
