LET IT SNOW!
LET IT SNOW!
Anybody else out there as big of a sled-head as myself? I can't wait for it to snow so I can get the old rocket out on the mountain!
I'm just a winter junkie. I've been snowboarding for about 14 years now, I still love sled riding, I play hockey, and I plow snow with a 1-ton dump with an 8 1/2 foot meyer plow. Any excuse to get out into the snow - I'm all for it!
They are predictimg that the biggest snow fall that we will get at any one time this year...only 6 inches...errrr.

I have the hill from hell ::beams:: It's awesome!!! When I was growing up, if the Units had their backs turned, you could scurry up the side of the house...onto the roof...launch yourself and then...well.. let the hill take you. If you survived the three tree's and the hidden branches of parrell!, the grape patch...and the big dog that always seemed highly disgruntled and very much angry any time you passed by.... then you were home free! This could take you across at least 7 blocks down hill... yes...over the roads. On coming traffic was never a deterent! Invincible!!! Yes!!! Well...at least until ya steered wrong and hit one of the three trees...
::grins:: And that was only my backyard. You should have seen Gospel Hill..from the top. you could clear almost ten blocks with that...and crossing a "semi" highway. Now those were da' days...

I'll be the one left standing behind you, looking the other way as you glance back at what you've lost.

hell yeah red! can't wait til it snows to get the sled out!! The best days are when the main roads are covered and you can get the sleds out there on the highway and wind them out.
another thing we always did was tie up a ski rope to the sled and drag each other behind it on snowboards for some major speed for the home made kickers we used to build.

There was a time in my life when I liked snow...like, before I had to drive in it, and a good snowfall meant a day off from school!
Now, I only like it when it hits on a day when I have off work (like, uhh, never...). I live on top of a hill, and usually one of the last ones the Township crews get around to plowing. The prospects of dealing with that hill and those sudden mountaintop snow squalls when I'm delivering Pennsylvania Musician do not excite me...

The more snow the merrier man! I am all about the white powdery stuff (you decide the substance that I am thinking about!). I taught myself to snowboard last winter, but I cant keep up w/ my skier buddies, so....I may convert! Please dont hate me fellow snowboarders! I Promise not to wear bright colored one piece snowsuits, not to ski w/ supermodel girlfriends in exotic european countries, and not to think I own the mountain!
Ha Ha Ha
P.S.- The substance I was thinking of is SNOW, not crack, chalk dust, flour, sugar, or anything else of the sort!

Snow
I loved snow up until I had to walk to the Thompson building from my house on the 900 Block of West College Ave. Working full time 7 days a week at Blue Knob after graduation didn't help much either.
I like coming home and playing in it....Sleds, Powered Sleds, Skis, snowballs, but I like the fact that I can go out down here without worrying about a jacket or socks for that matter.
Have a safe winter all, be careful driving.

I used to get season passes for Blue Knob and go skiing all the time. I had a "Think Snow" patch right next to my "Leaf" patch on my jean jacket. Now, there is no time to ski or people I know to ski with. For me, snow has become just another obstacle in the mad rush of life.
