I was watching and listening to the guitar player thru the spaces between my fingers with my hand on my face going "uhhh oh my god..."

I think he totally wrecked it, both guitar-wise and vocally. I heard a thousand noises that reminded me of that obnoxious sound that happens when you fuck up in guitar hero.

I thought the rest of them did well tho.

The Who, it was meh....wasn't great, wasn't bad, really wasn't anything....dude had a nice drum set. That's pretty much what I felt when I was watching it.

The "dude" is Ringo Star's son. A hell of a good drummer!

I thought they started out a little rough. Roger and Pete's voices aren't what they used to be. But over all sounded good in Hi Def 5:1.

One great light show too !

True - but Christ they're in their 60s! After 10s of thousands of gigs and 45 years, I would think so! :P

Still awesome after all this time, and absolutely some of the greatest rock n roll songs ever written.......

I liked The Who at halftime but at first I was like, their vocals are sucking. I think that they got a bit better though as their show went on. The stage & light show was absolutely fantastic. Zak's drum set was awesome & his playing was great too. These guys had energy & at their age, that's saying something. All in all, they didn't disappoint the world. Long live rock!
I've drank enough beer to float a battleship! Go ahead and Rock & Roll all night if you can but don't party every day!

I say that The Who was what it was...it sounded okay, for some aging guys whose voices aren't what they were in 1971. Also consider they were doing abbreviated versions of the songs as well, something they don't have to do in full-scale concert situations. In all, I thought it was respectable for this stage in their career...

I've never really been impressed with the halftime micro-concerts. They try to cram too much into too little.

Almost like they shove them out there, tell them: "hurry up and do your little dance and get off so we can get on with the game."

They should just let the talking heads over analyze the game.

I thought it was good, rough start as you said, but to set-up a stage and jam w/o sound check and not knowing what to expect on the first note has to be a challenge. I'd never bust on a classic that's been doing it for YEARS! Any chance I'd get to see one before its too late is a gift. THE DRUM SET DID RULE!! (always wanted a Vita-lite for my collection) and Zak's playing was spot on the originals. Great job there!

Loved the E-trade baby commercial. "Milk-a-whaaaaa??" FUNNY!! :D

Yeah, they were sloppy in spots and vocally they struggled but overall a pretty good performance. Pete Townsend suffers from partial deafness and tinnitus from all his years of playing loudly. Pete Townsend is 64 years old (soon to be 65) and Roger Daltry will be 66 years old on March 1st; so, I give them lots of credit for doing what they do. I enjoyed it much more than the Springsteen Band playing to tracks last year and way better than The Rolling Stones a few years ago.

Yeah, that is one thing I can also say about them. There were no backing tacks and no lip-syncing involved. They were pure live. Something that wasn't there for a while.

I put a petition in for them to get Journey, with Steve Perry, next year ...

it would just be nice if society wasn't used to hearing cheaters all the time - but rather real voices and players. Queen Latifah sang within her range - but it wasn't stellar because people aren't used to real - they are jaded. Carrie Underwood sang the last note of the National Anthem incrediably flat. Will anyone say a word about it? Probably not - because she's "Hot". But I am a very good singer with great intonation and I heard it as clear as day.

I agree it sucked. As far as society i cant speak for them but for me , if you going or be asked to do someing like that you need to be on. My point of view is that often singers change these songs to fit them and in a way it can be disrespectful. And as far as one person being hotter than another its not about that. bad is bad. suck is suck. I can say that she seemd to have a lot of problems with her in ears.

Yeah, that last word was a doozie. And why does everyone try to hang on to "free" forever. I'd rather hear non-professioals sing it. They usually do it the way it was meant to be.

They should have been booked for Super Bowl 34, not 44. Way past their primes. Seemed like Townsend was playing some wrong chords at times.

They better line up Ozzy soon.

Have they ever had Eric Clapton? If not, he would be a good show.
