I went to the Rex Theatre tonight to see Twisted Method, Motograter, and Dope. There was also a Tokyo, Japan band but I'm forgetting their name right now. They didn't speak a lick of english, but they tore shit up! Anyway, there will be picks coming within the next few days to the Lost Ledny web site - www.lostledny.com - There is one killer pic of Ghost(Motograter's singer) holding a Lost Ledny CD. Also, Motograter is now driving all over the country with a Lost Ledny sticker plastered on their box trailer. Those guys drove 13 hours in an 18 passenger van hauling a box trailer - that's hard core - no tour bus, a van! OzzFest veterans in a big red van!
Dope was awesome! They cut the night short due to the fact that they kicked the PA 4 major times and about 4 more minor times. By major I mean - no vocals, drums or guitars coming through the mains...no vocals at all and instruments only through the monitors. By minor...only the vocals got lost in the mains.
Every band signed autographs, took pictures with fans, Ghost even came out during Dope's set to hang with the crowd.
Here is the sad part...only about 250-300 people there. Not one singal radio station advertised the show. Dope even said, "I'm not sure how any of you heard about this show, but thanks for finding out however you did...probably all you computer crazy people"! I called good ol Clear Channel's 105.9 the X and talked to Bocan after the show. I told him about the show and asked if they had the Motograter CD - NO, how about Dope - NO! I guess you won't get much radio advertising from a station who won't even carry your cd in their stock!
Well anyway - Like Ghost said...It doesn't matter if we have 50 people or 50, 000 people - were gonna have a f'en good time on this Friday night. Yes, yes they did. That was clearly one of the best shows I've been to in my 29 years of life.[/img]
MOTOGRATER is still kicking, and kicking hard!

I almost forgot. In the pics we'll have posted, you'll notice that Motograter no longer wears make-up. Well they just aren't wearing it on this tour and only this tour. Ghost, said that they basically wanted to shut the critics up who kept saying that they sucked and the make-up was all they had. So the "American Apathy Tour" has a paintless Motograter.

I went to see E. Town Concrete at The World on Wednesday night and only about 50 people came.JayBird wrote: Here is the sad part...only about 250-300 people there. [/img]
Yeah, people were talking about that show. I tried getting Lost Ledny onto that bill, but The World wouldn't return my calls. We would have at least brought a school bus (about 50-60) of people to that show. I have thier cd and I think it kicks. The World is nice, but that section of town is dying. With all the Metropol trouble(closing, re-opening under a new name, closing again, and now back to Metropol) things seem to be slowing over that way. Banana Joe's used to be along there as well as another club...they are both empty now.
You'd think that being from New Jersey(fairly close), E. Town Concrete might have a better following around here. It all boils down to our local radio and how it SUCKS!

I didn't think the turnout would be that bad. I saw them last year at Club Laga and there was about 130/140 there. That still isn't too great for a national band, but considering ETC doesn't get any radio play, it's not too bad. But 50 people were just pathetic. But I will say everybody at the show was really into it, so I guess that made up for it. ETC's singer was saying how the World wanted to cancel the show, but ETC said they would play regardless of how many people were there.
Club Laga...hmmm...what is that...student rentals/apartments now...damn!
Cancel the show - basically saving their ass is more like it. These clubs are losing major income from the lack of outside advertisment. Clubs and bands can only hang sooooo many flyers before it becomes pointless. Lets figure - I'd say ETC made about $3000-$5000 for that show - 50 people at less than $20 per head...hmmm...not good odds! Lets not forget - it was a three or four band bill - correct?! So, all in all it probably cost The World around $5000 for the show. Now we ask, "Why do all these clubs go out of business"? There is you answer. Come on local radio - promote what other people want to hear...mainstream shit only goes so far. I know G.D. well more than 50 people have the E.T.C. CD...WTF? Pittsburgh got rated #1 city for up and coming national acts...start showing that the stats meet the facts.
