I was working in Indiana, PA last week and while driving through downtown I spied some guitars in a window.
They had a few guitars in there but one caught my eye.
It was a White(turning yellow) Squier with an odd serial no. VN404387 (1994 I think)and a thin Strat style headstock.
Plugged it into a crate amp and struck a few notes. Strings where all rusted and could not get it in tune and it sounded like shit.
Anyway I thought I liked the feel of it so we settled on $80 and I left with it.
When I got time I went and got some new strings and cleaned her up.
The neck is the darkest rosewood I have ever seen(black) and when I played it well it felt just right. I mean it felt like velvet or something.
And it sounded fantastic. I have a MIM Strat 50th and a MIM 40th and 3 other Squiers but this one looks and plays better than them all. I strummed it with no amp and it is louder than my other guitars unplugged.
I have been looking for that special MOJO guitar and for $80 I think I got more than my monies worth.
I read that the Korean guitars where not well documented so I sent an email to Fender asking for more information. I know some of the Japan models are well built and go high on eBay.
I have been playing it since I got it home and can't put it down.
Does anyone own one of these? And what do you think?

I don't know much about your guitar, but if you got a Japanese Squier, you really got a great instrument. A lot of crazy stuff came out of Fender Japan, but all of it is really cool. I almost bought a Japanese fretless Jazz Bass back when I was 15. The Japanese models are the only fretlessess without fretlines. Both MIM and MIA models have fretlines for some reason.
