Who can change my pickups for me?
Who can change my pickups for me?

Wtf, if i knew how to do it I'd imagine it would take under an hour?..... but i guess im shit outa luck. Anyone know how to do it? I don't feel like waiting around. I'll give ya what they ask around here...

Re: Who can change my pickups for me?
Music shops have more than one customer to take care of. Would you want to go in for strings, and the guy behind the counter says, "Sure, man, we have those, but you'll have to wait until I get this pickup in this guitar."gibson980 wrote:How long does it really take to switch out one humbucker for another? The other reason for a 3-day wait, is that many shops have a guy who is excellent at electric guitar repairs, and they'd rather have the excellent guy do it, so you're happy with how it turns out. That's a pretty straightforward repair, but sometimes they're kinda weird... I have an electronics background, and still occasionally wire things up crooked and have to go back in and fix it. (Note: I don't do gtr electronics repair at the store where I occasionally work. That's for Eldorado, or Mark Chaplin. I change strings, and easy-peasy stuff.

3 days may be frustrating, but it's pretty much average. I'd try Metalchurch, he knows his shite.--->JMS

Can you identify a genital wart?
I PM'd you back. I will do it if you like.
This might be one reason you do not want just anybody hacking your expensive guitar.
I am not positive who did this but
It proves a point!

The wiring was not even desoldered but Cut, Stripped and taped!
So now the pickup wires are cut too short to do a proper wiring job! Doh!
But don't take my word for it look at the pictures in the link above or just ask Kayla.
If you wanted everything done that you asked me to do it is definitely more than a 15 minute job to be sure however 3-4 days is a bit much. As far as Rainbow goes I can only imagine that they may have a good bit of work ahead of yours but you could probably be sure they would do a good job.
I hope that helps anyway regardless.
Thanks,
Barry
