PEARL EXPORT TOM
PEARL EXPORT TOM
My set is almost 10 years old and i change the heads a lot. I just changed the heads and i noticed that my 12" tom has minor warm near the seem.My drum set is always out in the garage because of band practice. There is not constant heat,we only heat up the garage when i practice or when the band practices. How can i fix this???

Doug,
The best thing you can do is get those drums inside, ASAP. If you're talking about the wrap coming apart at the seam, it may be a simple matter of re-gluing it. If it's too damaged, you'll need to have it re-wrapped.
Drums are delicate (despite the fact that we beat the everlovin' shit out of 'em), and should never be exposed to extreme temps, whether hot or cold. More than likely, the seam is splitting due to the contraction of the wood in the extreme cold, then the natural expansion of the wood shell when you introduce heat to the garage. It's a pain in the ass to tear them down and move them all the time, but if you want your instrument to last, you'll need to care for them.
