Believe in ghosts?
Supposedly this photo was taken this morning (1-6-10) at the Bedford Springs. Look at the doorway on the left.

Don't know. Here's the message that came with it.....
Okay, so check this out. This is NO joke. My mom got this via email today, a kid took a picture of this hallway at the Bedford Springs Hotel outside of the Bedford Market this morning 1/6/10. She is so freaked out b/c on numerous occasions she has felt a presence in the market while she was working at night. So creepy!!

That's pretty awesome, especially since the most you'll find in majority of pics would be "orbs" (small circular "bubbles" in pictures that are just randomly floating around). I've always been fascinated with the spiritual world, and paranormal, and that's just the tip of the iceburg with my search beyond the mundane

you guys do know that there are a bunch of cell phone ghost apps and other techniques to make "ghosts" appear

I'm not saying I dont believe cause I have some stories of my own that made me a believer, just my two cents

I don't believe in the afterlife at all. My dad passed in 2000 and a few times over the years my mom would say "pap" came to visit. She would see him standing at the foot of the bed or in the hallway motioning that he was going to bed, etc. I'm sure it was lonliness hallucinations or some reasonable explanation. I always wondered why photographed spirits are always fully dressed. Actually, I would love to see a restless spirit, but I'm pretty much convinced that someone's final resting place is the oblong box.

I used to be real big into paranormal investigating, but lately I just haven't had time. I've been to the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, WVa several times & have even done a few private residences.
I think this pic is fake, based mainly on the fact that the "figure" is too detailed. The edges are too neat & it looks to me like a photoshop job.
I'm not sure what I believe in, but I have had several experiences in my life. The most profound was when I was in the WV Penn, we were all recording in the basement area (dubbed "The Sugar Shack" by the inmates), recording with nightvision cameras & voice recorders. I got shoved by some force on my right arm, & it actually moved me. I have this on video & do have it online, but my domain is giving me nothing but problems anymore. It didn't feel like a hand, but more like when you stand next to a road & a big truck goes by. Like that, except much more concentrated & controlled.
I was scared as hell & had to be helped up off the ground, I was shaking so bad! After I left the room, I felt this overwhelming calm wash over me, but I would not go back into that room the rest of the night. I've walked around that place on my own in the dark, but that is the one room I cannot go into alone.
We have also caught EVPs there too, one of someone whispering (what we all believe to be saying) "Get out... of here. Get out.", & then more of a moaning wail that sounded like it came from down the hall from our position.
If I can get my domain up & running, I'll post links to the EVPs, Videos & Pics.

In the paranormal field, hard proven evidence is king.

In the paranormal field, hard proven evidence has never happened. James Randi started the "Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge" in 1996. Nothing has passed the preliminaries.FourthDimensionAudio wrote:... In the paranormal field, hard proven evidence is king.

Yes, real evidence is hard to come by. You have to consider the integrity of the group that "investigating". We have some pretty crazy evidence that we have gotten. Some audio & video. Im not sure I believe in "ghosts"...but something is there. We dont go into to places and looks for ghosts. We look for logical reasons that cause people to think their place is haunted. Usually its EMF or just good old mental problems on the persons' part. Like I said, we have some things that I cannot explain. Obviously there are gonna be people on both sides of the fence. 1% of the stuff out there is real. Mostly its whispering morons or just audio thats been processed so badly that you can get anything you want from it.
Like I said, most of the time, there is nothing there. Just wild imagination and the lack of Dr. prescribed meds.
About the challenge- Im well aware of the challenge. Thats a really good thing. The only prob is, if the people werent there, they cant say its real. If someone brings audio of 2 voices, and they KNOW they were the only person there....why would that Randi guy believe them?? I know i prob wouldnt. So yeah, he is never gonna say something is haunted. You cant trust people's words. Unless he is there himself to see and hear it when it actually happens, he isnt gonna give anyone a million dollars regardless.
Do We have some evidence that is proven and real? Yep. Could it have been faked? Sure! People spends their lives faking paranormal evidence...look at that stupid Taps show. There will never be any way to 100% PROVE anything paranormal. We are in the age of photoshop & video editing. That takes the RAW evidence factor out of the equation. Sad, but true. Also, when you have people running around with pictures of dust that they call "orbs"...that just adds a nutbar factor to it. Dust arent ghosts!

My IT employee opened it in photoshop and believes it is a fake. he said the outline of the "ghost" has a lot of straight lines, from using a lasso tool and it was smudged around the edges to fade it away.
I'm no expert on the matter but according to him, it is a fake.
it'll still be fun to show it to my daughter, she'll believe it's real.
so thanks for sharing the pic.

It looks like they did a little bit of layer blending .. If you look closely you can see the photoshop marks as you mentioned ..
