gonna wait

Gonna wait on this one for a few months and see what happens. The Android OS is free from Google and it is really just a matter of time til the Android devices eclipse the Iphone. Remember the Apple II? Everyone thought it was the shit then the 086/Windows came along and everyone was able to do their own thing. The "apple's" cannot compete against something like the android OS, shit it will be in your cars in two years!

I originally bought the Moto Droid but just exchanged it for the HTC Eris Droid. Sleeker phone and easier to answer calls on and it syncs with Outlook. Some of the Android 2.0 features are coming when Eris gets the upgrade soon.

I love being able to customize it with apps of my choice!

Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

I'm really thinking about getting the Droid after a few months. Everything I've read online about it says it's a bad ass little device.

$70.00 a month for the data plan alone. Thats the cheapest.

Wow when I called verizon about 3 days ago to see if my other line could be upgraded early, they told me $30 for the unlimited data plan (tethering is extra)...

The data plan is $30.00 on top whatever voice plan you have. No different than any other phone or Blackberry!

There will come a day soon when that data plan is going to be required and part of the phone plan, Has to happen, the phones are almost all we enabled...

I will watch the android device, heard that Dell and HP might be working on devices for ATT....

That day is coming sooner than you think. I recently did my upgrade, and was going to get an EnV Touch, but now it requires a data plan, and it's not even a smart phone. I got the new Chocolate Touch instead, and love it. And only paid $28.88 for it. Yay!

Data plan for a droid is 29.99. Now if you're on the basic 39.99 voice plan, that's where the $70 comes from.

I was at Best Buy today looking at these. It isn't a bad phone, but I still think the Blackberry and iPhone are better.

I agree with this now that I've owned each of them. Even as I type this on my droid I'm wishing the blackberry browser was as good as the droid or iphone so I could switch back without a sacrifice.

I actually switched back to my Blackberry for a couple of days and I couldn't believe how slow it seemed next to my Droid Eris so I switched back again. Still digging the whole Android experience!

After living with the Droid and putting DroidMod/SholesMod about a month ago, I'm really liking that its finally smooth (overclocked to 800Mhz).

The wifi tether is awesome and it counts against my 'unlimited' data (for now). That right there makes up for anything I found lacking before. I've been using that pretty frequently for work lately and its become a lifeline.

DROID Eris is awesome....so easy to update the bands facebook, twitter, and myspace sitting at a show before the start to give updates and pictures as well! My favorite app on it so far i'd say would probably be slacker radio!
