Got a source to back that up?

Dude, don't be a dick. Nobody knows yet, and the coroner is leaning towards natural causes.

Sorry, but I ain't had my coffee yet, and ignorant shit like that pisses me off in the morning.

I'm not thinking overdose, I'm thinking eating disorder. Unfortunately, if you look at the pictures from when she was just at a moview premiere she was VERY, VERY thin.

The expectations that are put on women, and even now carrying down to the young girls these days to be thin are just wrong. Bulimia (sp?) is very hard on a persons system and the constant purging plays with the heart on other organs in the body.

Sad, she was a very beautiful young lady.

Personally, I think extremely thin women are truly repulsive. I say "Have that second doughnut."

It wouldn't surprise me if it was an od and Nobody ever knows anything they all just jump to conclusions anyway at that young of age thats probally what it was. How many times did the diagnosis MJ one thing after another then it went the whole way to homicide they dont know what there talking about regardless.

Recent news reports that the cops are questioning her doctors and that they found pills all through her house. I am going to wait till I get final verdict to believe it though ...

Plus one on skinny chicks. I know guys are responsible for a lot of women's issues, but the pressure to be thin doesn't come from men. --->JMS

I disagree. The pressure comes from men and women both. Maybe more from men when it comes down to it. One example (of many) is the many male sports coaches whose female athletes are so thin that they haven't had a period in YEARS and that is extremely unhealthy for them. They do not want them to stop their sport OR gain one pound. Most of the coaches with this attitude are male. I know because I sometimes am the one counseling them to gain weight and I know the pressures they are under.
You have to understand John that it is a big world outside of central PA and not all guys are nice country boys like you and many others on this board who may not prefer skinny chicks. Many do. And I truly mean that as a compliment to you as I think guys like you see more than a body.

^^ I refuse to turn this into a political debate. Even I will admit that Obama could have nothing to do with this one lol ...

The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

I thought you'd chime in on that, ZappasX! I can see the coach thing, but that's not really the same kind of pressure. Those guys aren't about looks, they just want to win, which is also pretty stupid. And the females athletes themselves don't starve themselves for appearances, either, but most of the reason the average girl skips a meal is about how she feels about her looks and herself, and her control.
And I think you'd be surprised at how the vast majority of men feel about a woman's weight. Most of us have an upper limit we like, but it's probably way higher than you think... and it gets higher as we get older. --->JMS

Sadly, I know many people with the whole "I have to lose X lbs..." attitude. This is America. We give so little damn about anything and everything else, and yet somehow, when we go home at night, and we change our clothes and prepare for bed, most Americans look at their mirror, and they just say "I don't like... I don't like..." and can go for an hour! I'm not like that on either account (neither the physique, nor the diurnal lifestyle). Heh

Somehow, for being the biggest, most edgy, "don't give a damn" country in the world, we really DO give a damn, and about ALL of the wrong things! Why? Who knows

I've got several friends that, sadly, may not make their proper mark on this world because of how skewered the whole "I must lose X lbs!" mentality has entrapped them. What's truly sad is, most of the people I call "friend" I don't consider a friend if they aren't very decent, very humane people. I hope some day, I can enstill in them some of the wisdom and understanding about their own physique that I've come to terms with

Somehow, the most indispensible country in the world is afraid of its own shadow

Excellent post, Naga. We have a lopsided view of ourselves, for sure. We can (and do) achieve on a level most other countries only dream about, and in the end, we're worried about how we look.--->JMS
