Licensed Floyd Rose Parts

Post by Dark Soul »

I'm having trouble finding parts for my licensed Floyd trem. The string lock screws aren't nearly as long as on a real Floyd. Pretty much work the same, but they're only about a half inch long. Does anyone know where I can get screws like this? I suppose I could find a shop somewhere willing to shape them for me, but I'd rather just buy some. I've looked online and can't find what I need. Any suggestions?

And please, no smartass replies like "Go buy a real Floyd". If I had the money for that, I would. I just want to know where I can get some string lock screws that are shorter.

Thanks for the link, but I can't tell if those screws would work. The ones I have look like normal 1/2" allen screws but the end has the threads machined off for about a millimeter...but they may as well be made from the wood of Christ's cross for as easy as they are to find. I will never use a licensed Floyd Rose again.

Here is a place that sells licensed floyds and parts. It looks like you may have to buy the whole saddle though. The guy's phone number is on their home page, call him and see if he'll sell you just the screws.

Thanks Shooter. If I can't find any I might take you up on that. Never been to Guitars And Stuff before. Have to check that out.

If its just an allen set screw, most good hardware stores stock them. Its probably a 2.5mm X 12mm long.

Finding a plain allen screw is no problem. It's finding one with the end machined off so it'll fit into the hole in the string lock insert that's difficult. A normal allen screw won't work.

Try a hardware store. A "real" hardware store. You might get lucky.

Dont remember the name on the drawer at the hardware(maybe indexing screws). but they are real cheap, I may have some from lic floyd rose laying around, there is several sizes & different thread pitches
