LEEPER FIRE BENEFIT bags $800

Post by BDR »

On behalf of the BAD DAZE family, I want to thank EVERYONE who came out last night and packed CITY LIMITS for the LEEPER FIRE BENEFIT!!! Because of all of you, we were able to hand JEFF and SUE roughly $800 to help them through this trying time!!!

BIG thanks (and by the way, if you're offended by this "thanks" thread, tough shit) go out to JIM PRICE; Q94; PA MUSICIAN MAGAZINE; CLAUDIO and the CITY LIMITS staff; ZILLY; NEVER ENOUGH; CLASSIC CATS; HAIR FORCE ONE; my brothers: "OLD SKOOL" KENNY MURDICK, "FUTURE BOBBY" PAUL RAINEY and "FUGHEAD" RANDY WILSON; the BAD DAZE GROUPIES: SHEL, VICKI and the latest edition, KATE; Jeff and Sue's family (you guys know how to party!); the MANY ROCKPAGERS who were there last night (I can put faces to a lot of handles now) and all the people and hopefully new fans of all four bands that rose to the occasion last night to support this cause!!!

I can't tell you how completely thrilled I am that this came together so successfully. From the bottom of my heart, thanks to EVERYONE one more time. We love you all and we wish JEFF and SUE the best of luck.

This is what it's all about...

It's always very cool to see the music scene pull together into a community to help out somebody in need. The Leeper Fire Benefit was another big example of that. What a night!

As Rob said, hats off to all four bands, Claudio and the City Limits staff, Zilly, and everybody who attended, dropped extra change and bills in the jars and otherwise contributed to the cause. This is what our scene is about!

Wow, I was hoping that last night would be a success, but I wasn't expecting it to be THAT GOOD!!!!

I'm usually a secular person, but God bless everyone who came out (musicians and fans alike) and supported this cause.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out and showed their support of Jeff and Sue last night. HF1 had a great time with all the bands and fans that came out to help a good cause, even though I personally was a little under the weather from a bad head cold. It was a great time. Thanks to JP, the PA Musician, and Q94 for all the support as well. To all the bands: You all kicked serious ass. I and the rest of HF1 were happy and priviledged to share the stage with you all!

The Leeper Family would like to once again thank all the musicians and new friends we made Friday night. When I was starting out as a bass-player wanna-be , back in the early 70's , the old pros did a lot of benefits.
I enjoyed myself , and relished the opportunity to meet more musicians , who as a rule , were crazy , but quality people. It's nice to see this has spanned generations , and is still the case.

I've been blessed with the opportunity to put a face to some of the names on Rockpage , and have found that each new friend has proven to be that crazy , quality human being I remember so well from that earlier time.

What a show! My family and I were entertained by some very talented and polished bands , and got to share our somewhat different brand of music with a very appreciative and gracious crowd.
I was cheered , hugged , kissed and helped by some of the best I've had the pleasure of meeting through the years.....and Jim , there's no friend like an old friend.

Never Enough , you're absolutely right. Perfect name. I could have listened to you folks all night long.

ClasicCats....my guys....Thanks , again guys. It's a pleasure to share my music experience with you .

Hair Force One , awesome ! You are some seriously disturbed people , whom I can't wait to see again....even if I did get groped by a man in a blonde wig....(It wasn't that bad)

Bad Daze
....Great , guys. You know how to work a crowd , and how to rock a room. As with the other groups there , I was duly impressed.

Claudio , Zilly , my new friends and my old friends....Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. You've made a tough time a lot more bearable.

Jim , the fans , and special guests....Thank you.

A special thanks goes out to Rob , from Bad Daze.

Rob , more than anyone , you made it happen.
You're a real example of those crazy , quality individuals I was talking about , earlier. It was a pleasure to get to know you a little better , and don't hesitate to call for any reason. Congratulations on your young marriage , to your very nice , and very pretty new wife. ( musicians don't usually notice that sort of thing ). We musicians always marry over our heads.

Forgive me if I miss anyone , and I'm sure I will , because I owe so much to so many. My wife , my family and I want to tell you how much it means to us for you all to do this , and we'll never forget this night.

Sorry if it was a long post.....Thank you....Jeff Leeper

The benefit made todays front page (saturday, november 20) of the Tyrone Daily Herald. They mention about it quite extensively. If anyone want to check it out, pick up the paper. You can go to the local office and get back copies if you need to ..
