Once again. I get tired of educating you. George Washington was the first to create a federal tax. He ask Alexander Hamilton if he could do it under the already written constitution. Alexander Hamilton refered George Washington to the "implied powers" article of the constitution. IT IS IN THE CONSTITUTION.
More bullshit from Obama.

No, history. Did you ever hear of the Whiskey Rebellion? Washington taxed the sale of whiskey, which would be unconstitutional if not for the "implied powers" article of the constitution. When people rebelled, Washington brought in the army to quash it. Damn, learn your American history. Yes, the implied powers for taxation derive from a general statement in the Constitution that grants Congress the power to tax as long as those taxes are uniform throughout the US.Hawk wrote:No, history. The Constitution does not make any specifications as to what can or cannot be taxed. Since the Constitution places no specific limitations on what can be taxed, I would argue that the Constitution grants Congress the power to tax anything...as long as it is uniform throughout the US.
Sadly, they have almost accomplished this feat.
"SECTION. 8.
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes,
Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide
for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United
States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform
throughout the United States;"

The left today is beyond socialist, actually going towards fascism (with government takeover of banking, mortgage and some automobile industries). Both of these viewpoints lead to STATISM.
I do not want anyone to tell me how to live my life. I do not want to tell anyone else how to live their lives. If they continue to steal my money at gunpoint to push their agendas, I will try and stop that. If that is what you want to call control, then that is your definition, not mine.
Jefferson said, "That government which governs least governs best". That is still the best policy. Neither the right or left today have anything to do with that statement.
That is why a third movement of very limited government, as defined in the Constitution, can be the only real option left for anyone who agrees with our founder's principles.
Actually, a well-thought post! Except for the socialist & fascism parts, anyway. Kudos.--->JMS
So, the President will go to Copenhagen, and tell the world that the US is willing to tax it's own people and businesses, for the betterment of the world?
(IMO, we are doing our part already in cleanup)
So the effect on our economy is not as important to him as the minimal change in the atmosphere that may or may not even happen (let me know when China and India clean up their pollution), or even matter!
All this while the "science" is being questioned. (only 1/3 even believe it!)
That is in our best interest?
Back to the video, our rates will going up, no doubt about that. But how much? And they'll be subsidies, and more taxes, and more distribution of wealth and more social justice.
But the Chicago crowd will get theirs, and the poor will still be poor. . .

You can't put all the blame on Bush. He spent a lot of money, and fucked the country. However, Obaminator has already spent more in less than one year than any president has ever spent! The real problem is BIG GOVERNMENT. The more government means the less the economy will grow, and the less freedom people have to earn.
Dumya and his handlers (he was actually a puppet) assaulted the Constitution. they can now do warrentless searches at their descretion. the gubnit does not now need an overseer as a check on their activities/power..thanks to dumya/repugs .. what do you think of that?you cool with that? warrentless searches of you, your loved ones, associates and your home??!RobTheDrummer wrote:You can't put all the blame on Bush. wake up! Obama is not your enemy
Obama is the duly elected Commander in Chief! respect that!
Bush was our duly elected Commander in Chief, yet it was more than ok to bash him. Now tell me who has spent the most.
It so funny (sad really) that none of you cared about the National Debt When we were 10 Trillion in Debt when George W, Bush was in office. That's ONLY because Fox and Limbaugh didn't make it an issue. And because that's your only source for information, YOU DIDN'T KNOW !
Now that Obama has to spend and clean up the mess left for him, suddenly you care. That just shows how the Republicans pulled the wool over your eyes during Reagan, Bush and W. Do you feel as dumb as you are ?

What I see from that list is the Debt going up every year, and this year being the highest it has ever been. Hell, if it goes according to the stats it will go up again next year and the year after that and the year after that. So, your point is mute and non important ........Hawk wrote:Here is a history of the National Debt.

It is a fact that the polar caps are melting. That can't be argued. Is it the fault of pollution ? Most scientists say yes. Exxon has paid out millions to their own scientists to attempt to prove otherwise. Follow the money ()as Limbaugh likes to say) and what outcome do you expect.
China is currently building more wind turbines in their own country than we are. And they are in the midst of building (in China) the largest solar panel system in the world.
Yes, given all the money they are making from selling their wares to us (slave like labor, low wages and our companies leaving the USA to China to capitalize on the cheap labor), China is surpassing us in more ways every day.
Why do the Republicans hate the unions. Because they kept wages high. They fought and died for a FIVE DAY work week (which G.W. tried to rescind with his "no overtime pay increase bill") That's right, the corporations would not have to pay more for overtime wages and you could be forced to work more than forty hours for the same hourly scale. It was another attempt at reducing labor costs at your expense, efectivily removing the fivr day work week.
If they can kill the unions, they can force lower wages upon us. Then remove the minimum wage. All wages go down. Then remove pollution controls. This is what the rich corporate executives want (and so do all of you Republicans and Liberterians).
Now if your wages go down, and they're allowed to pollute all they want, the factories might return to the USA. And you'll be better off ? Fools!

Where on there does it say that obama didn't raise it? You are looking at a one way river again. The stats clearly show the the debts goes up every year and so far Obama has it the highest it has ever been ...Hawk wrote:You have been complaining that Obama has driven it up more than anyone. Ha Ha Ha, I dare you to make an attempt to back that up with any factual data.
The economy can't grow because all the manufactures have already left to other countries for cheap labor. Tell me I'm wrong about that. That has nothing to do with big government.
The only way to compete with that is to lower our wages equal to theirs. That has nothing to do with big government.
Now Fox is crying Obama isn't creating new jobs. Tell me how you can do that without lowering wages to compete with China / Mexico in order to bring companies back to the USA.
It ain't just taxes and pollution that caused them to leave the USA. It's cheap labor hands down. Now what are the Republicans recommending ? Cut taxes and let them pollute. G.W. drove up the deficit more than any other president with that method. Look where that got us.
Poison the next generation with polution, that's Okay. As long as it saves money.

YOU had no clue we had a deficit or 10 Trillion before Obama. Because Beck didn't tell you.
