I'll put pictures up tomorrow, but I'm offing my Yamaha TRB1004 to help get the ball rolling on a Fodera Bass. It was either buy a plane, or a bass... The bass option won, a little easier to transport and cheaper upkeep ;)

TRB-1004
EMG-35P in the neck
EMG-35DC in the bridge
Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp (all at 18V)
and a Kahler trem

Plays great and sound great. There are some nicks and scrapes but nothing that interferes with the overall playability.

$450.

That's a HELL of a price on this folks. I played this and was very impressed. He's telling the truth about the tone and playability. And if I remember correctly, Mark Chaplin did the Kahler work and then some. He's the best!

I didn't think you'd ever sell this! What Fodera are you looking into? Please tell me it's Vic's Yin Yang signature!?! Are you looking for a used one or are you gonna have Vinnie custom build one for you?

(Also if you get one with a Pope pre, I'll pay you to build m a replica of it for me!! I hear they're works of art.)

Yeah, that's why I want you to see if you can make me a copy! And I'd rather have it onboard in a bass. But then again, I could use it with any bass if I had the rack mount version! Either way, I want one!

And you're a sick man for buying a new one! I love high-end bass guitars and Fodera is the cream of the crop, but I just can't imagine dropping that kind of loot on one bass! Instead of one amazing bass, just think of all the other other just great basses you could have in it's place! Just out of curiosity, why didn't you go used?

The $600 is for the pope designed internal pre, just like what goes into a fodera. I can get you the email address for right person to talk to if you want to explore further.

I want to be the one that breaks it in, that's why I want new ;). by the time I go through all the other basses I want just because I don't want to drop the $$ on a fodera, I'd be right where I'm headed now, money wise. but I'm 99% certain that I'll be happy from day one this way if it's anything like the foderas I've played already.

I guess you got a good point. Why mess around. I don't think anybody would be disappointed with the tone feel or quality of a Fodera!

And I didn't know you could by a pope onboard by itself! That price is way more than I'm willing to spend tho. I thought Lane Poor prices were crazy!

This is an awesome bass. Rob's stuff always plays so nice (I really should
have taken the 6 string).

Our great, instrument-wise, is such a contrast. Rob's is always beautiful
woodgrain, beautiful instrument. Mine...not so much.
