Backdrops/Banners

Post by nightcrawler_steve »

I've seen a lot of the bands in the Altoona area have some really high-quality backdrops.

Does anyone have any input as to where these can be purchased locally? Input into durability, portabilty, etc.?

I've looked at a few sites online, but would prefer to go local if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

I know The Grimm had a banner made at one time But Geez I don't remember who made it , What I do know is that it was the wife of a guitar player in another band , I"VE BEEN A HUGE HELP HUH?? , at any rate ours was stolen off the wall at Peter C's and we don't have one now SO if you find a good deal let us know. ( adoring fans )

It just so happens that the wife of the guitar player, from another band, who made the grimm banner is me. Thanks for the mention Bobby, I appreciate it!!

I do all handmade & painted banners in any size you choose. I've done several for bands like Brok*n, RwS, Wiskerbisket, Feight, Vendt, & of course The Grimm. I'm willing to work with your budget. If your interested contact me (Angela Shafer) through this post/email addy or by phone (814)386-0301..

When we were starting out, we didn't have $100 to spend on a banner, so I went to the local Hot Topic store and found a cool goth vinyl shower curtain, black with flames coming up from the bottom about a foot and a half. I bought two and connected them together end to end so they were about 5 ft x 10 ft. I "borrowed" an LCD projector from work, hung the curtains on the wall and projected the band's logo from our website onto the curtain. I used a yellow highlighter to trace the logo onto the curtain and got some glow-in-the-dark paint from the local craft store and painted the outline of the logo. We'd hang it from our light truss with a couple black lights under it to really charge up the glowing paint, and it looked like a million bucks.

Goth shower curtains - $14. Glow in the dark paint - $3. Watching one too many episodes of McGuiver - PRICELESS!
