Who will be the Republican nominee in 2012 ?

My prediction.

I really don't think the Republican party is a disjointed (no Colton, not that) as some would have you think.

Beck and Fox and Limbaugh continue to stir up the base. Fox's high ratings show just how strong the base is.

The Republicans need someone who will appear to stand up to Limbaugh and at the same time attract the moderates. That's the ONLY way they can win. Palin and her base will not attract moderates and can't beat Obama. I don't think they're stupid enough to have Palin in there at all.

So who is hiding in the background ? Someone that can appear to unite the right wing fringe with the right wing moderates?

Jeb Bush. He's not his brother. He does have the ability to unite the Republican voters and he is the only one I can think of who can beat Obama.

Like I said, I don't really think the Republicans are disjointed. It's a very good strategy. Constantly attack Obama no matter what he does. [Try to get the Olympics - wasted time away from the real problems. Don't try do bring the Olympics - UnAmerican. Either way he's attacked] This keeps the base united.

Then finally one guy stands up, and he fits every one's mold. Religious right, Radical right, Moderate right.

Jeb Bush.

She confirms that there was substantial tension between her advisers and McCain's. She bitterly details how she was prevented from delivering a concession speech on election night, how she'd been kept "bottled up" from reporters during the campaign and prevented in many ways from just being herself. I think the far-right will nominate Palin. They're in the midst of purging all moderates from their ranks, and she's the cult of personality, despite having no real qualifications. She's a political paper tiger, and all those purged moderates will be sore, and will vote against her. That's even if the mainstream media doesn't evicerate her like they did last go-round.
There will also be a backlash against the Rightwing Media soon, I think, as they're tremendously overexposed right now, and Americans get really sick of overexposure. (Think Jon & Kate's show... ratings were down 90% when it ended)
If a rightist wins in 2012, look for ALL tables to turn. Liberals will march on DC, and will de-legitimize the office of president. Liberals will be writing books and blogs and will throw roadblocks in front of conservative legislation. The Right will accomplish... nothing.
