Renewing the wager...

It's that time of year once again...

Penn State vs. Michigan. And along with that, yours truly vs. ToonaRockGuy, with a case of the foamy adult brew of our choice on the line.

This will be a good game. Michigan is much improved over last year's 3-9 squad, and they were one interception away from knocking off Iowa in the Big House two weekends ago. Penn State hasn't won in the Big House since 1996.

This game will reveal exactly where Penn State is as a football team this year. They'll need a complete effort on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes, and this game can easily make or break their season. A win builds their confidence heading into the homestretch and gives them a better shot at running the table the rest of the way. A loss would likely knock them out of the Big Ten Conference race and end their BCS hopes as well; and also might send them on a downward spiral the rest of the way.

I think this one will be as exciting as the 1995 contest, and it could well come down to the last team with the ball winning it.

I'll predict that Penn State's fortunes will ride with their defense. If their defense can bring the pressure and force turnovers, I think they can win. But again, it is the Big House, and Penn State's recent history there does not bode well...

My prediction: Penn State 27, Michigan 17

While this is between you and ToonaGuy JP, I am with you. They have to stop Forcier which I think the defense can do. ABC anaylst, who I despise, said that as Clark goes so does the Nittany Lions. I think Daryll is aware of the situation this team is in this week. They win this week they should get to OSU for sure and run the tables.

My guess is Michigan 27 - Psu 13. Clarke will choke and royster needs 100+ to even think about winning

I'm always in, JP. And no Colton, I haven't forgotten ya. We'll set it up.

While I'm not a fan of RichRod, this year has been a very nice surprise. I don't know how much more Michigan has in the tank, but my strong gut feeling is that they will beat one more team this season they are NOT supposed to. And despite the win last year, PSU still has to beat The Big House curse.

Michigan 24, PSU 21. JP, make mine Mountain Dew, I stopped drinking 2 years ago this coming NYE.
