Well, it's over, Bush is still the president. I'm not going to be pessimistic about it. Bush is going to do what he is going to do and I do truly hope that things will take an upward turn in the next four years. Now it's time to move on, hope for the best, and most importantly, keep rockin.

Isnt it sad though? I really think that Kerry should have won...in my oppinion anyway! I dont think there will be an upward turn. Everything will just go back to the way it was before the election. It's ironic though...Everyone thought Kerry would win...most wanted him to win; yet Bush still wins. I think every president gets 2 terms though. People just feel bad. Oh, well...Theres always next time!
Oh yeah, it wont stop us rockers from Rockin! Hardcore!

Um...... obviously most people didn't want Kerry to win (although you can keep on believing that kind of thing if you want)XseverinjectedmeX wrote: It's ironic though...Everyone thought Kerry would win...most wanted him to win; yet Bush still wins.

History
You can look back through history and say "How did that person ever gain power?" It seems impossible but you never can tell when you are dealing with the masses. It's like people thinking that they will be protected by "Conservative" judges on the Supreme Court or maybe changing the constitution to ban Gay Marriages will keep them from marrying a Gay Man? People loved Hitler and felt very safe, he was amazingly popular and then things went wrong.
I would never compare GWB to Hitler, that is just the example. I believe that America is strong enough to withstand almost anything. I do believe that we need to keep an eye on "Fair and Un Biased", we seem to really have a lot at stake in making people believe what we believe ( ie. "pro choice vs no choice") and I pray that we will remain a country of diversity and a place where people can speak their minds and pursue their own personal happiness without anyone changing the constitution to prohibit that.

Seriously I see comparing George Bush to Hitler the same as comparing me to Charles Manson because I asked my dad to shoot a deer for me this year(have no time to go anymore with school and what not)....torn&frayed wrote:You can look back through history and say "How did that person ever gain power?" and to Democrats, find a better candidate next time. I am not in favor of George Bush but, you found someone who offered nothing to anyone other than "I have a plan" and "Dont vote for Bush" ....GWB could have been unseated, had you had a candidate that could be deemed a leader in any way...John Kerry lost, GWB didn't win it on his merits, he won because Kerry was a flub....a mere dolt who stood for nothing....

Pro Choice and No Choice
Pro Choice does not in any way indicate that you are not also Pro Life. That is the problem. I would never choose an abortion for me and my wife. Now if my 9 year old daughter was raped and became pregnant I do want the option of abortion available because I would do anything to prevent her from being put into a life threatening situation.
I would never condone using abortion as a sick type of birth control but I believe that it should be available as an option.
I also think that as "men" we should have absolutely no voice in this issue.
So again getting something "Wrong" is a matter of opinion. Would you actually tell me that because my daughter was raped she does not have the right to have an abortion? Then when her 50 lb body just gave out and died while trying to carry a baby for 9 months what would you tell me then? I am curious, say abortion is illegal and my baby girl dies under the described circumstances, what do you tell me when I show up at your door crying and ready to die myself?
Sorry? But that baby had the right?

Whenever I getting into these discussions about abortion someone always brings up the rape or the life of the mother being threatened. I can completely understand your position there especially the life threatening part. But the instances of abortions taking place in those situations is such a minuscule percentage that it really doesn't factor into the abortion debate. Most abortions are performed on healthy growing unborn babies to mothers who are not willing to take responsibility for their own actions.
And, what even infuriates me most about abortion is the Partial Birth Abortion. Talk about a sick concept!!
What amazes me is that I have had discussions with close friends of mine who are extremely liberal minded. These people don't believe in capital punishment for someone convicted of murdering an innocent person, but believe murdering an innocent unborn baby is okay. They don't believe that killing animals for food or clothing is acceptable, but it is acceptable to kill an unborn human being. They will protest the cutting of trees and the killing of our unborn children at the same time.
Then there are the organizations like planned parenthood who fight to keep parents out of the picture if their daughter decides to have an abortion before she is 18. Huh!! Kids under 18 need a parental okay to get their ears pierced - but not for a serious medical procedure that takes another’s life.
These organizations also fight tooth and nail to keep any sort of "educational or informational" information out of the hands of a woman that is thinking about having an abortion. They don't want women to know what kind of physical or emotional problems can take place because of this operation - and they really don't want women to know what happens to that living being inside them. Isn't that funny when any other medical procedure requires hospitals and doctors to inform a patient of what is to be expected. Drug companies are required to divulge possible side effects. Yet planned parenthood and N.O.W. wants to keep information away from women regarding abortion.
I don’t agree with abortion. That is where I stand. I am Pro-Life. If my wife’s life were in jeopardy while giving birth next week (yes she is due Thursday), then I would probably have to make a difficult choice. But, if you think about it – I would still be choosing life, it would be my wife’s life though. That would be my choice.
As far as rape is concerned: I don’t know how I would feel unless I was in that situation, there is really no way to tell for sure. But like I stated at the beginning of this – those situations are no where near the norm.

Oh yeah, sorry, but there is one other thing I wanted to comment on.
I think men have as much of a right as the women. You know the old saying: "It takes two..."
Plus, think about this, if you went out tonight and got some young hard belly pregnant - you would sure as hell be paying for that kid for the next 18 years or so.

Agreed
Point well taken. Then there has to be some type of comprimise made that would allow for "life Threatening" situations. If a young child is raped and becomes pregnant then there has to be a legal way for that abortion to occur.
I believe in the death penalty, I believe in hunting and I believe that under certain circumstances abortion should be legal.
I do not believe in abortion for birth control and I do not believe in abortion because someone does not want responsibility.
And by the way I will prayer for you and your wife and the new arrival! Is this your first? Make sure to let us all know that all is well!

Yeah, I agree with what you said here - I could deal with abortion in that light a lot more than I can the way it is now.
Oh, and don't worry, I'll be putting something up here for all to see when the baby arrives!!! Yeah, this is our first. Been about 4 years since we started trying. I'm nervous!!
