Nope. Sorry to say that was not a Blues Cruise show. If I told you where that photo was taken, you would not believe it.
it looks like a photoshop . the background kind of looks like raystown.
where was it taken?
That photo was actually taken at a show we did outside the Galleria Mall in Johnstown. We like to call that our "fake lake" photo at Lake Galleria. There was a green grassy hillside behind us and a friend of mine decided the lake looked better and put it behind us.

You guys might have seen Ric on MTV when it started. He was in the Till Tuesday video for Voice's Carry. At the very end when Aimee Mann stands up in the theater and the camera pulls back to her left are two guys in white tux jackets. That's Ric and a fantastic drummer named Tony from the Boston area.
I Youtubed the Til Tuesday video... it was too grainy to see Ric C. There are definitely 2 guys in white jackets, though.--->JMS

Saw these cats at Aldo's for Jeff 's benefit show a few months ago. All I can say is F'in WOW!!!
I should have been there, but had a gig. The Edge was a really hot band when Thin Ice started playing around Altoona... they and Sidewalk Romeo were the local hotshots at the time, and SW mostly played out of town. The Edge were better players than us, so we had to jack up our show to compete. Plus they were all clean and nice, and had nice gear, while we were mostly sleeping on people's couches, and used a LOT of duct tape. Both bands could pack a little club like Old Sab's pretty easily, and that provided for a very in-your-face experience. I wouldn't trade that time for all the success in the world, I still think back to it quite a bit.--->JMS

My first band "Black Diamond" with me on the right, Ken and Mark Earnest and two female fans.
Recent picture of my band "The Front" at our 25th anniversary reunion gig.
I don't have any pictures of our record covers or posters from the Front, nor any pics from my other bands like Riot Act and others. Maybe one of my band mates or Ron Nearhoof can help me out with that one. I hope you dig the pics!
I wish I had a pic of him with us. He was awesome man. I learned alot about feel and groove from Tom. I miss him terribly and I wish he was in the area so we could play together again.
Post some old video footage, from shows onto a site somewhere, and post the links. Photos are cool and fun to look at but, video is way cooler.
There is nothing better than, video of the greatest, and most embarrassing memories of your past! Nothing better I tell you!
anybody remember a band called Henway? or henweigh
I dont remember which way is was.
I enjoyed looking at this thread.
Recording Records DIY, with more than one good song. Watch for my new band
"This Albatross"
Black Diamond - Who know's if you would even remember but you played a gig at an Edison School Festival. (now Ebner School)
I was about 8 years old (1976-77) and my friends and I were totally into Kiss. When you guys showed up with long hair, guitars, drums and loud music we thought we were at a real concert. I believe you actually played the song "Black Diamond".
Anyway, it was something I never forgot about. It was so cool.
It's crazy to think how certain memories and the impact of bands and music now make sense as to why we are musicians.

And what ever happened to Wicked Truth?!
I played for Wicked Truth back in the day. The version I played in was Bill Longo - Guitar, Dave Longo - Keyboards, Phil Harpster - Drums, Ed Mardis - Vocals and yours truly on bass. When Bill finally ended the band they did a show at the 4Ds and most of the members throughout the years showed up. Each variation of the band got up and played. It was a blast. Some of the members over the years starting with The Insprirations were: Jerone Barnes - vocals, Lou Kabello - bass, Pat Colyer - bass, Kevin (?) - bass, Tim Kelly - bass, Tim Yingling - drums, Phil Harpster - drums, Bill Longo - guitar, Dave Longo - keyboards and many more! I have to look for some of those pictures!
Black Diamond - Is that Ken Earnest the guitar teacher that used to teach at Ritchies Music store? If so, he was my guitar teacher when I was 15 years old.
By the way... how the hell do I get that comment box thingy to appear in my post when I add a reply?
Merge wrote:That's a good looking PRS, I'm guessing you sold your 82 Gibson, lonewolf.
I traded it to George Gruhn even up for a 1976 Fender Starcaster.
Was this before or after he opened the shop in Nashville?? I've been in there several times, can't afford anything in there but it's nice to look, lol.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

Anyone remember Matt Fredrick? What a guitar genius. He could play Iron Maiden, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhodes down to the note. Too bad he never thought of himself as ready for the stage. Either that or the band didn't sound close enough to the album to play live.
Man, those were the days. You know, when playing the guitar in front of people required years of practice in your basement slowing down records before you would even consider playing live.
Now, with the exception of heavy metal, it seems like any punk-ass kid that knows 3 bar chords and whines about their life actually think they are playing music.
