Well for two years now I've been getting e-mails from them. It cost $70 to register, but with that you get a drum skin for a snare, Ernie Ball strings for a guitar and a bass, plus you get a set of drum sticks. Why the $70 then - I don't know. Good vs. bad...hmmmm...a shit load of bands enter this, so you basically become a number. I was in touch with Emergenza last year when the closest place was Philly. Now this year, it's in Philly and Pittsburgh. You get at least one 30 minute set at the 31st Street Pub if you sign up. After that...it's all up to fans. You may move one where you'll play at Mr. Small's Theatre. From there, I really have no clue what happens. They advertise about playing over seas an such. I'm always sketchy about the pay to play corporate gigs. I have heard commercials on 105.9 the X about this. Maybe you have to pay to help with their advertisment costs. I've had a couble bands ask me about this event, but like you, we're all kinda wondering where the catch is. I really see none except for the $70. So it's really $70 vs. playing a 30 minute set at 31st Street Pub...worth it or not?
