hofner bass guitar

trying to find the year of this vintage beatle bass..violin shaped.. pickups have hofner on them. somewhat sunburst finish. tailpiece says made in west germany, tuners are inclosed. hofner emplem is not raised. no other numbers anywhere.. can anyone help with the vintage? thanks mongo straight
