Bush Sr. visits State College WTF?

Bush Sr.'s visit to State College this morning had a pretty disturbing angle. Guess what?
They won't let anybody in unless they are registered republicans!
Either GH likes preachin' to the choir, or is attempting some type of inner-party damage control, since GW lost PA in 2000. Perhaps he just doesn't want to hear any boos, just fanfare.

I also got my scare tactic flyer today... apparently images of the twin towers on fire causes people to vote for Bush, because there are 12 of them on it.

BTW, I'm not a Kerry supporter either. This week's South Park episode did a perfect satire of this election... who is going to win? The giant douche or the turd sandwich?

That one episode has put this election into perspective for me. It's satire at it's most brilliant.
As for Bush 41, the party-members only rule has applied to all of Bush 43's town meetings, and most rallies.----->JMS

That is interesting that you had to be a registered republican to get in. My sister is a registered Democrat and was at his rally in Johnstown. And, I am a registered Democrat that had a VIP pass to his rally in Harrisburg when he was campaigning for the 2000 election.

I'm here at University Park, and it IS true that the rally was NOT open to the public. I don't know how they screened people to get in, but it DID say in teh Collegian that it would only be open to supporters, and that the oppositon was contemplating a protest outside.

This is mainly becasue the College Republicans sponsored his trip here, so it is not considered a public event, per se. I am far more concerned over something like this:

I'd say South Park's parody is right on the money...The Democrats did something similar when John Edwards was in the area. Some independent friends of mine tried to go and couldn't get in. They finally did because one of them had a press pass and they were made to stand in the back of the room...one was even ridiculed for not being a Democrat, or wearing a button...

IMO, it's all bullshit...you don't really know who or what you get when you vote Nov. 2. I personally feel like walking into a voting poll any more is like walking into Dollar General and buying a $1 grab bag. Not just quite sure what's inside your choice...or if it even matters...

I have never voted strickly by party. I look at each individual candidate and vote by their platform, voting history, accomplishments, etc.

I probably vote more Democrat than Republican. For instance, I am friends with and support Senator Wozniak - D, and Rep. Haluska - D. I also always vote for John Murtha because I believe in many of the same things he does and he always makes it a point to get back to me when I try to contact him. Then there is Arlen Spector - R who I wouldn't give a vote for if he were paying a kings ransom for votes. I didn't vote for our govenor, and don't agree with everything he stands for, but I have met him and he seems like a decent guy for the most part (but I will most likely vote against him next time.)
