Michael Vick...
Michael Vick...
Michael Vick signs 2 year deal with the Eagles. Any Eagles fans out there? What do you think?
I'm a drummer...I just hang out with musicians.
Wow. On the upside, Andy Reid's a tough coach. If he's going to straighten
out having Reid yelling at him might help, not that the poor guy doesn't have
enough to deal with. On the downside...Vick is garbage. Iggles aren't my
favourite team, but do like them.
Back when Roman Gabriel, the Jaworski, Carmichael, Wilbert Montgomery,
et al, were there, really liked them. Hope they don't sully Jaws' number by
giving it to Vick.
AND, Philadelphia. Dang. Might be a mixed blessing for him. If he plays...
and does so badly....he's goin' to wish he was back in prison.
THEY BOOED SANTA CLAUS...AND HE DIDN'T FUMBLE!

McNabb actually is the one who persuaded Andy Reid to talk to the owner. McNabb wants to help Vick.
I was born and raised in Athens, GA. Loved the Falcons with Vick. He was fun to watch and literally carried the Falcons.
It's a shame what he has done...
But let the man go back to work. Eagles fan or not, everyone will be anxious to see what happens.
The Eagles may try to utilize the Wildcat offense. Vick probably won't be able to play until week 7 so that gives the Eagles a lot of time to figure out what they want to do with him.
Making a move like this...No one in PA can say the Eagles aren't trying to win a Superbowl.
The guy has been out of football for two years... can't wait to see what happens.

but...
anyone ever wonder how much harsher his penalty would have been if he hit a dog instead?

As big as he got from working out in prison for the last 2 years, maybe they should let him try running the ball... Truely put the slash position to the test!
lol.
In all seriousness, people eat dogs in many countries. And the kinds of dogs that are put up against each in other in a "dog fight" are not typically your cuddly and friendly house pets. They're vicious animals... Sometimes you can contain their natural instincts for a while, but they are still just animals that have evolved to be vicious killers. How many times have you heard about a pitbull breaking free from his owner and mauling someone?
Personally, I love animals. What Vick did is not OK in my mind in any way. I think it's disgusting and sad... But he has paid a pretty heafty price and society, the NFL, and now the eagles all agree that he deserves his second chance.
Who am I to argue?

Man, I was hoping the Raiders would have signed him.
They need all the help they can get.
Plus they would be keeping up their criminal element
Or maybe the Cowboys, because we all know Tony Romo isn't the answer.
He may have fainted if the Boys would have signed Vick.
Oh wait a minute, according to the ball washing ESPN gives Romo he's the greatest qb to ever play the game besides Favre.

Yeah, and the people who raise these dogs do all kinds of nasty things to them to keep them in pain so they're always pissed. Wood screws in the bones for example. And what about the losers who get drowned or electrocuted? Vick and his kind are among the lowest human filth on the planet. I hope he takes a paralyzing spinal injury in the first game. He'd look great slobbering in a wheelchair.JakeWilliams wrote: And the kinds of dogs that are put up against each in other in a "dog fight" are not typically your cuddly and friendly house pets. That was the most stereotypical piece of garbage I've read on Rockpage for awhile. Are you the kind of guy who thinks that all black people eat is fried chicken?JakeWilliams wrote:And the kinds of dogs that are put up against each in other in a "dog fight" are not typically your cuddly and friendly house pets. Seriously, ponder this... Most of the big-city, urbanist minds with baggy pants barely at their thighs, bright red/blue clothes, and a hat turned sideways has a pit bull. They're not heartless animals, they're JUST FUCKING ANIMIALS!!! They're only thought of as an "evil breed" because of inner city trash BREEDING and TRAINING them to be killers, such as this pile of shit Vick! Even fucking LASSIE could have been trained to be a killer, if that's what his owners wanted him to be! Don't blame the breed for the douchebags that raise them with an overcharged a killer instinct!
Hefty price to society... He's spent time off, practically on vacation, in a veritable country club jail! He was probably eating better than you and I! How is that paying ANY kind of price to society???JakeWilliams wrote:Personally, I love animals. What Vick did is not OK in my mind in any way. I think it's disgusting and sad... Ironic, Jake... You just said how much you love animals... But then discredited EVERY word of that with more sympathy for Vick than a breed of dog with a bad name. Thank you for displaying your love of animals

Here is my problem with the whole Vick thing.
I can see both sides of the argument about him paying his debt to society and that he is a scum bag that should have been electrocuted like one of his Dogs.
My problem with the whole thing is that NFL players (and other sports) make millions!!! Far more than the average Joe or even our trained professionals, i.e. Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, etc. WE PAY FOR THAT through Jersey’s, Tickets, Parking, Exorbitant food prices, etc. Like it or not they are roll models and should be held to a higher standard, they sure as hell get paid for it. If most professionals get a felony for something and go to jail for 2 years, more than likely their job will not be waiting for them when they get out. All major sports should have a one strike and you’re out rule. If you are convicted a felony you’re done!
Like in most things it is the few that give the rest a bad rap. I say get rid of the bad apples!!!

Micheal Vick ....
Comics should have a great time with this ... here is a sample
They are now known as the Philadelphia Beagles
There will be no more dog-pile tackles at practice or during a game
Dog Whisltes will be used by referees of the NFL when they play
Andy Reid will send him out on the field and tell Vick to "sic'em"
The entire team will have to get rabie shots
Two man tackling drills will be eliminated because Vick will have flash backs to the dogfights
If the Beagles lose because of him screwin up the team will hang a muzzle and chain on his locker

spot on man. i own a pitbull and he is one of the most well behaved and most intelligent dogs i have ever seen. any decent pitbull owner would agree with that. some people believe they have locking jaws...they don't.
just because idiots decide to train them to fight doesn't make them a vicious breed.
